What's the difference between white noise and – black? A
purely technical term based on the machinery's "white
noise"?

Clearly this band isn't the eponym. ('Kuken' means 'The
Cock'.)

white noise is random static you pick up through
interference. black noise must be when you zero out the
frequencies (not the same as a digital clip)

Thanks, but I'm a technical ignoramus.

I think I grasp the white, I guess chaotic noise (perhaps
most noise music, i.e. Merzbow, Masonna et al.), but what
about the black one? Is it just machine blur?

white noise is interference around you from tv,radio, mobile
phone broadcasts and also from high voltage. its just fuzz,
to hear it turn on your stereo loud without playing music
and you'll start to hear incoherent sounds fading about
static.

black noise is literally silence. the best way for you to
hear that is to make a sound file and erase all the bands of
frequencies. it may be easy to make a sound file without
sound, but being able to truely hear it without some sort of
interference would require very expensive equipment.

metaphor:

color white = all colors mixed together

color black = the absence of color

no, he simply stated that he hadn't heard of black noise
before, something which i'm sure a lot of other people have
never heard of before.

your addition to this thread is not enlightening, it's just
common sense to turn white noise into it's polar opposite.

you require a b8, my pontificating American friend
