I hear it is really bad for you. I did a little internet
research and it seems as though soy solutions for babies can
be detrimental the growth of an infants brain.

For adults, internet research leads to information about our
bodies having difficulty digesting the soy proteins.
Apparently the soy protein is also very bad for the brain as
well, some say the body treats it as a type of 'alien'
protein.

Is there a significant amount of research that has been
proven right, or is what's on the internet just hearsay?

felled to create space to grow it, i think its great that th
eco pricks all love it and it really isnt soo great.

we had a cat that was dead spazzy and thin, it's cos the
people that gave it to us used to feed it tofu and stuff
like this. poor kitty, victim of morally uptight hippy
wankers.

I'm guessing this is because only the tit milk has the
proper fatty acids and such for brain development. But I am
too lazy to educate myself. Do my research for me, serf.

rainforest thats processed to look and taste like cow meat.

You know who's behind the widespread use of pigrat milk? The
goddamn pigrat cartel, that's who.

"One of the main common crops grown in the rainforest is
soy—in fact, much of the enormous amount of soy that is
needed to feed the world’s farmed animals now comes from
the rainforest. (The soy that is used in veggie burgers,
tofu, and soy milk in the United States is almost
exclusively grown domestically, not in the Amazon.) A
whopping 80 percent of the world's soy crop is used to feed
farmed animals."

the land and energy it takes to grow a cow could for many
years feed 6 humans or somthing like that. i read it in a
book.

.

Cows need lots of energy from sun>plants far more than a
human does.

And cows are lovely creatures. i met one and a calf , so
cute and caring too.

Cows fart a lot, doing a lot of damage to the environment,
too.

Don't act like the intensive farming of cows and even of
battery hens and shit is all natural and the way Mother
Nature intended it to be... it does a lot of damage to the
environment and is difficult for famrers to keep up with how
much people want, since they are greedy. That's why a lot of
farmers can;t make a living any more...

Sorry if my 'hippy talk' annoys you gingaling. I am not
trying to piss anyone off, just voicing my opinion like
everyone else. :)

no worries, i'd dont deny that modern farming techniques are
not natural, and i wont deny that they may have harmful out
puts. but the course of the matter is that i am aware of the
damage were doing but am for want of a better way of putting
it, too damn lazy to care.

on the soya thing to be honest i hadnt looked any further
into it than that soy is grown on reclaimed rain forest. in
a sense i'm jus the opposite of what i detest someone who
has extreme veiws, with little more to back them up than the
basics of what they have read.

Meat doesn't taste of anything, take all the garnish off and
then try eating it.

"...cow meat that came from cows in green fields..."
That's pretty damn far from the truth, unless you are buying
free range.

I'll only drink "milk" if it's soy... even in cereal.
And I eat hummus daily....

I eat healthy often, especially now.

agreed, meat really doesn't taste like anything, it's all in
the seasoning. It can have a nice, pleasing texture though.

soy is an ersatz solution to a real problem, and i don't
approve of the feeding of live cattle with it, or the
chopping down of rain forest, but i still find its moderate
use beneficial. The thing is, many people just go over the
top and use it every day. Try different beans, stalks,
lentils and legumes for a variety of tastes. Also, meat is
more expensive than soy, at least where I live. (not that I
would eat it at any cost)

I also prefer soy milk to regular milk. Rice milk is good,
too. Regular milk products are tough on the system.
