Fen In My Head (2:28)

Fen In My Head (Funtastwich Fen Funnymix) (2:36)

The main track is about as dark a song as I can make. I'd
hope it would scare small children and such. The funnymix
should cleanse the pallet a bit afterwards.

Hi.

I hear a lot of cliché horror sounds over trite drums.

Maybe a discarded Insane Clown Posse beat?

With all the irony on this board, i'm not sure if its
actually supposed to be scary, but i can tell you that it
doesnt work on that level for me.

The remix is better. It's actually pretty good. I like how
it evolves in a way you don't predict. Hearing the ending
cheered me up a lot. You should cut the crap, go straight to
the end, do some nice chord progression and turn it into
some alternative pop (an idea i'm sure you and the rest of
the board will probably loathe).

Hi Dirty, appreciate the listens ;p

nah nothing discarded, ICP or otherwise... it's all hand
sequenced, and the non drum sounds are built 90% from
scratch. I can see where you'd think it sounds rather
cliche, and I agree with that. Most of my stuff is pretty
cliche. I don't really see the drums as being trite though,
it's really just a standard hip hopkish beat that doesn't
try and do too much. To each his own though...

Glad you liked the remix (or the end ;p), when I have some
time I'll see if I can bust a re-remix that I'm happy with.

If you made the sounds from scratch, then its actually quite
impressive. I think the problem might be that the drums
doesnt fit with the rest of it. I don't know. Its very late,
and you just confused me. I will return tomorrow and see
what others think, so i can join the choir.

Keep up the music! I should let you know, i mostly don't
bother giving out any of my precious critique, unless i feel
what i hear has some kind of value or effort put into it, so
you should consider yourself proud :D

Always thankful for honest critique... I've taken a lot of
criticism from this board and put it to good use over the
past couple years. After listening to your 30 min mix you
posted the other week, I know you know your shit too.

i get the vibe. i think these were both good, nothing wrong
with getting a little cheeky here and there. like twin or
cylob etc., it should go without saying actually.
