I launched a new search engine last night:

big book search

It's a quick visual search tool for finding books, DVDs,
CDs, etc. It uses high resolution images pulled from the
Amazon catalog. The interface is intentionally very simple.
The goal is to make something as easy to use as Google
images, but with stuff you can buy.

I've been developing this for a few months now. It's still
in beta, so you might run into some bugs. You'll need a
decent screen resolution and a broadband connection to get
the most out of it.

Let me know what you think.

Tip: Don't try searching for music in the books section!
Change the dropdown menu to "music" first :)

excellent man, ill be looking forward to using it, you
should do something about that design tho - there is
something about it that just screams WRONG.

Excellent amazon.com image browser. I guess this is easier
than going to Amazon? Possibly can this be extended to other
online stores and all that?

You can probably make some profit from this you know.

That's really cool.

I think the interface looks really nice and shiny, too.

As already said, you may be able to make a lot of money from
this.
Do you plan to?

Maybe ask Amazon first, though.

Great work!

nice lookin' site! I like the simplicity factor (maybe the
main reason google did as well as it did in the beginning)

I cannot really see a reason why I'd use this over going to
amazon directly, but if you can make a buck off it, more
power to you :)

Good for people who judge a book by its cover.
