well for starters it seems I've been living in a time bubble
that's about 24 hours behind everyone else.

in one of his speech he says that americans need to make the
change themselves, regardless of the way which a new
presidency can help that change. it sounds like the most of
them might want to start watching what's inside of their
homes.

So what's up with this Bergh VS Obama case? Far be it me to
follow Obama very closely, but I guess the point is to prove
he isn't a natural born citizen?

I thought prior to running for Office you had to submit a
Birth Certificate?

Anywho it sounds like some Clinton supporter (oh god) is
going through the motions with the court. I also find it
quite funny on the guys site that a bunch of Clinton
supporters are voting McCain.

Two things come to mind with that:

1) People are fucking stupid
2) McCain is a liberal in sheeps clothing

I heard about that. I can't see how Obama could have gotten
this far into the race without having provided his birth
certificate.

Well, just watch some crazy thing happen where Obama is
inelligble to become President due to this case and then all
of the electorates he won cast their vote for Hillary.

Then John Titor was right! And hell in a hand-basket here we
come.

I think the hell in the handbasket analogy better fits
Bush's second term.

At least Obama will surround himself with competent people.

Well SINCE all of california's electoral votes are going to
Obama anyway, I'm going to vote my conscience and go
Bob Barr.

But if I lived in Ohio, I'd vote Obama.

Like I said I'm not really a libertarian idealist. I like
the philosophy but let's get realistic, it's not gonna
happen anytime soon.

Was it really so bad under Clinton? ;)

I don't think so. Obama has entrenched Democrats on his
committee. There was some speech he was giving and he was
mocking McCain and the "good ol' boys" - well Obama has the
"good ol' boys" workin for him.

Follow the money trail and then see where those companies
are on his committee.

That's a big problem with America right now, we DO need
change, but nothing will happen because there's no new blood
getting in on either party. I hate to sound conspiracist,
but these old boys care more about corporate interests than
our own.

But that also partially goes back to character. I'm gonna go
out on a limb and say that I don't Obama's a sellout. McCain
IS a sellout (his pick of Sarah Palin was just an insult to
american's intelligence everywhere).

I don't think Obama will align himself with corporate
interests anymore than Clinton did. He seems to genuinely
want to help people. That's why I like the cat.

See that's what my dad says. A lot of the problems I have
with both Parties and the reason I like Paul so much my dad
also agrees with, BUT like many Americans he's voting for
"the party" and he tries to justify it by saying well Obama
can't say that stuff now because it'll be political suicide.
Personally, I don't think repealing Bush's executive orders
is suicide, but like I told him I am of the show me
mindset.

I feel a lot of Americans are going to realize later on that
they were led on (other than Stupid Fucking People) and that
this new adminstration will keep most of if not all of the
Bush policies intact moving forward with their own.

I'm tellin ya, don't get brainwashed when he's in Office
with what he wants to do. Remind yourself to look every
month or so to see if he goes against these Bush policies.
That will be the tell-tale sign.

I really wouldn't be surprised if he shuts the Patriot Act
down after a short time in office. He'll close out
guantanamo bay, he's already said. He'll start bring back
troops from Iraq, that's 12 billion a month right there.

The things Obama would do that would directly benefit me:

low cost health insurance
tax cuts

The things Obama would do that directly hurt me:

supports the FCC- (censorship)
inflation of currency based on spending money we don't have

--

The things McCain would do that would directly benefit me:

..... (crickets)......

The things McCain would do that directly hurt me:

supports the FCC- (censorship)
inflation of currency based on spending money we don't have
---

so that's pretty cut an dry if you ask me.
Plus factor in the character, Obama seems genuine, McCain
does not. That's probably the single biggest thing for me.

Yeah, but again they both voted for the bailout....and look
what that has accomplished. Bernanke and Paulson (or
whoever his Sec. of Treasury is) are going to keep coming
asking for more bailouts. When 85% of the public is against
it and both candidates vote for it - that shows where there
interest lies.

Yeah, Obama has a plan to have em home from Iraq is 16mos or
something like that, but he is for sending more troops into
Afghanistan....and again it's going to come down to show me.

A lot of ideology comes into my decission making process, so
I'm trying to keep that away from here.

A thing to keep in mind is whenever the government makes a
power grab (be it taxes, policies, regulations, etc.) more
times than not (and way more than not) they keep them intact
instead of casting them off when they are no longer needed.
Specficially for all we know Obama's comittee likes these
Bush Executive Orders because it will benefit them once they
are in power - yet will cry foul (and vote for them - just
look at how many Democrats voted for the Patriot Act) when
they are not the ones utilizing it.

When it comes to Liberals there needs to be more like
Kucinich. If you want the "Straight Talk Express" with no
bullshit and none or little corporate influence he should be
your man. Not Obama or any of the other power brokers in
the party.

it was wierd, all this time and my neighbor waited till the
day before to talk about the election with me.

in his words the "blacks" will riot with a obama victory or
loss.
the guy is a nice old man, he is a pastor and does social
work. but to have he tell me that, when he knows one of my
kids is half black was pretty insulting.

yeah. I'm no fan of the bailout either. Let those banks rot,
there are better ways and incentives to regulate the credit
market than to pump taxpayer money back into private banks.
I guess if people actually lost all their holdings in the
bank, then maybe specific bailout for that would have been
in order. But that didn't seem to be the case.

But i'm not going to sit here and pretend that I
really care about the bailout as an ideological
talking point, because I don't. I care about Sarah Palin not
becoming my president, and social conservatives banning
books, censoring games, and looking over my shoulder like
true socialist east germany style big brothers.
