i saw some awesome timelapse footage on vimeo and decided
to test it myself. just hooked my canon 400d to my laptop,
ran gbtimelapser and put it all together with qt and
premiere.

anyone else into timelapsing?

that was awesome, I love watching time-lapse footage. Nice
music choice as well. I love watching one layer of clouds
moving in the opposite direction of another layer. beautiful

Also the lighting in this video is wonderful.. even when the
sun is up, a gloominess remains over the town. was that
intentional? if so, how did you achieve that effect?

shit. that really was awesome.

thansk.

zephyr, hehe, it's the moon silly. if you put it in
fullscreen you can even see some stars moving, even little
bear (ursa minor) is flying by between the skies.

for a really awesome night timelapse, check this out.

I should have noticed. In fact, on some level I think I did.
(I noticed the shooting star). I think the fact that the
moon has a large aura around it in this video makes it seem
more like the sun than the moon.

sorry for my silliness! :]

Great video, man.

Looks like you live in a really nice area, too- with all the
trees and all. =)

Also good choice on the soundtrack- if only one could be
self employed to do time lapse photography. haha

How many hours in that over, in the vid?

oh, it's only 2-3 hours or so. need to get some decent power
supply for the cam to do longer ones without fucking it all
up.

very cool. i've been meaning to try this but i have the same
problem concerning power supply, and lack of free software
to control the camera since the in-camera timelapse settings
are too limited. goin to check out that gbtimelapser stuff
asap. thansk!

so do you have settings that take the shots for you?

400d is my second favorite camera next to the 450

yeah, i'm using the trial version so far, but it's only 50
bucks or something so i think i'll just buy it. if you gonna
run it straight into the computer anyway, the power issue is
easily solved with an ac adapter. in the field on the other
hand.. you'll need a intervalometer and some power supply
(car battery?).

Points: 8197 Status: Lurker | Followup to bit bare: #02246490 | Show recordbag

with that soft you can take pics at set intervals and
control all settings from the computer. the pics are also
saved directly to your computer instead of on your tiny
flash card. to bad it doesn't support RAW.

congs man!

i was sorta in between the sun/moon idea, i thought it was
midnight sun.

man makes me wanna get over there even more, looks lush, i'm
used to the trees etc but the architecture makes it all look
so much nicer, wood built houses rather than imposing brick
structures.

what i love seeing is the camera move or rotate while it's
time lapsing. obviously that means having some kind of track
that the camera moves on slowly
