Snus

I started using snus this weekend, as a somewhat healthier
alternative to smoking. Not as satisfying, but it removes
most of the cigarette cravings. Any more snusers out there?

Yeah! Mostly løs general, because it's what they have in 7

Do American, fire-cured tobacco bags count? If so, I got
them by accident once, so HIGH FIVE! They probably aren't
the same.

Cigarettes are rarely as satisfactory as I expect them to
be, so mouth tobacco is fine by me, lasts longer too! I
hate me, I hate me, pack a dip.

It's not really certain if snus is any healthier, is it?

Anyway, it's pretty good. I prefer it to smoking.

It still has the hazards of nicotine, but the risk of lung
cancer etc. is eliminated

The warnings on the snus packs says "This product may be
harmful", as opposed to the cigarette packs which say "YOU
WILL DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH"

I've just tried General Portion and Nick & J (portion and
loose )so far. The latter is my favourite of those two.

I was forced to learn how to bake (poorly) after buying
loose snus by mistake.

Has snus gotten more popular in Denmark lately? It didn't
seem to be very common when I lived there.

I use Göteborgs Rapé Portion and General Original and
White Portion. And I smoke! Rullungs.... :D

It's getting MORE popular, but not that popular. I guess
it's because of the smoking ban here in Copenhagen.
Apparently, lots of police men use it for some reason. It's
very rare to find it in bags here. I doubt it will ever
become as popular as in Norway/Sweden.

snus? is that same stuff as snuff?

we used to pass the snuff round at work, but only because
with the smoking ban came a smoke free work place.

I like the menthol stuff, clears u out!

snus looks, smells and is really distgusting...

*thinks of the snusers who "cleans" their hands on the seats
of the public transport here in göteborg*

its like looking for a light switch in a very large room you
don't know ..but once you find it ...you know where it is !!
and with apractice you can switch it every freaking time .
but nicotine is a bitch it can make the switch hard to turn
, but you know its there you feel it and you may have to put
a little more energy into it... just takes a few seconds
longer sometimes ...( like when someone has a spiff next to
you) but once you switch off the craving....you dont give a
flying fk...honest!

in 19 days time ...ive given up for a year. 4 festivals
without smoking anything.

best thing i did this century (for myself anyway.)

We call it snuff here in the US. I like it, but I always
look around nervously when using it... not many people do it
here, to the outsider it would look like I'm sniffing coke
off my hand.
