Hi guys and girls,

I've done an album called Eight By Six. If you go to the
link below you can listen to samples of the album and, if
you want, buy it for £2. My mum has a terminal brain tumour
so all of this money goes to Cancer Research. I thought it
would be a slight incentive to get people donating but, if
you hate my music, why not donate anyway?! It would be
really nice to get up to 50 paid for downloads. I'm not very
good at this hard sell stuff so here's the link:

Eight By Six

i might agree that raising funds for research could be
useless but who am i to blame one for taking comfort from
the things he feels closer, the way he does. do you really
feel in the position of judging? lucky you. this music has
dignity that deserves to be recognized if asked, there is no
poor fucker and i also get some gratitude back. you know i
can feel you have been suffering, my twin sister is dealing
with this shit from twenty years and she's a huge dickhead
just like you seem to be.

maybe i should make a thread and post some shite music that
i made 15 years ago and beg for fucking money because boy do
i need it. i went for an interview for therapy last week and
got told theres a 12 month waiting list. unless i had the
money of course. or perhaps u need to pry more into my life
and ill tell you im lucky to be alive considering what ive
been throu.

its my right and my conscious tells me this wait of
promoting music is grossly negligent of any moral or ethical
reasoning.

of course i feel for the guy, but if he wants or needs
emotional support this is the worst way to do to it online.

behaviour can be.

g'night and sorry for hijacking.

thats an opinion thats not necerrily true. but neither is
what i said. you have to presume what someone tells u is
real and react to it the way to see fit. and i did and so
did you. i wont go to sleep feeling guilty and neither
should you. but i hasten to add i still feel uncomfortable
with the initial prospect. not just given my own
circumstances but desperately trying to be subjective about
the matter.

im not sorry at all, in fact i hope everyone reads what we
both posted as they are both valid points. goodnight.

I'm not lolling at anyones situation or views by the way. I
feel quite surprised I have to defend this but, of course in
any situation like this, emotions are bound to run high. The
purpose of this endeavour was never to gain any emotional
support, I have enough of that thank you. I also make no
gain financially in any way. I think perhaps you
misunderstand horsey but this money goes to a registered
charity and I am in no way begging for money to benefit
myself or anyone I know directly. If I'd started a thread on
here saying 'Hi guys I think cancer research is a good
cause, send them money!' the result would've been far less
positive I think. Providing an incentive (however rubbish
you may think it is) for people to donate to an organisation
that does good for many is what I am doing, I fail to see
how it is profiteering or exploiting any situation. I wanted
to mention my mother purely because the situation was
inspirational to the music, If I had put up some other crap
I probably wouldn't have. Perhaps you envisage that I am
pocketing something because I am destitute? This is not the
case.

earthleakage, congratulations! you just made yourself look
like the biggest idiot in xlt's history (no mean feat in
itself)

there isn't a single selfish aspect to indeksicals post. he
isn't making personal monetary gains and assuming you
already knew about his personal situation, you'd realise
that it isn't just random music from his archive that he
wanted to promote. but hey, i'm not gonna regurgitate what
he already wrote above, it already makes sense to those
which already have some.

i'm (trying) not to insult you, but i just found your
original post quite aggressive and somewhat misguided. i
don't think indeksical of all people is going to put you on
a guilt trip just because you choose not to donate/buy his
album. just remember, nobody is putting a gun to your head
and forcing you to part with anything. i've turned down
peoples donation requests in the past (including cancer
research) due to monetary reasons, but i would never
criticise them for doing what is essentially a good,
selfless deed. indeksical has my total respect and i just
find it a shame that you can let what seem to be your own
personal issues cloud your perspective of this.
