in episode 10 of season 1, which was aired in 2001, the
following dialog can be heard:

'...went to astronomy class too, back when pluto was still a
planet'
- 'when did pluto stop being a planet?'
'a few months ago'

now, pluto has been classified as a planet until august
2006. what the ef's going on here?

LAZY_TITLE
from imdb

Claire (Lauren Ambrose) mentions at dinner that she has an
overnight astronomy thing for school, and Nate (Peter
Krause) and David (Michael C. Hall) cover for her. They then
have a discussion about the planetary status of Pluto (is
it, or isn't it?). The same discussion occurred on an
episode of Peter Krause's previous show, "Sports Night"
(1998), between him and his co-workers.

wiki - Pluto's official status as a planet has been a
subject of controversy since at least 1992, when the first
Kuiper Belt Object, (15760) 1992 QB1, was discovered. Since
then, further discoveries have intensified the debate.

i guess it was only official in 2006 that pluto wasnt a
planet. but all the smart peeps in astronomy class didnt
refer to pluto as a planet well before the rest of us..

btw, six feet under<3

pluto's not a planet anymore jeroen.. didn't you hear
anything about this when it was news?

it was declassified

i'd look for the bbc news article but i'm too fucked

but i can for certain confirm that it's not anymore
considered a planet

BUT his point was that someone in six feet under said it
wasnt a planet while it was still officially a planet.

what pigster said

i remember in 2006 coming to the conclusion that this pluto
thing was just a big astronomer's conspiracy to keep their
field in the news. i could remember that pluto had been
declassified, apparantly inofficially then, numerous times
before

but the whole thing show from start to end is good as.
