the b side on splitrmx is recorded at the wrong speed. the
a side is fine... neither track cuts out early.

if you're basing this on tracktimes listed at discogs, those
are incorrect and only accurate for 33rpm (which is the
wrong speed).

offline gerbik on 2008-06-27 11:05 [#02218593]
Points: 441 Status: Lurker

p.s. I haven't actually listened to elusive's rip, I'm just
basing this on the track times of his files. correct
running times are:

a. 6:32
b. 7:59

offline gerbik on 2008-06-27 11:06 [#02218594]
Points: 441 Status: Lurker

and the correct speed for splitrmx12 is 45rpm.

if ya'll need a proper recording of it, I would be happy to
help... recorded on some superb equipment too.

and big THANKS to elusive!

no. Side A - "Play Weissensee Against Im Gluck" is 8:51.
(on the CD it first appeared on)

if you're talking about the "homage to neu" track that ae
did titled "weissensee"... correct me if I'm wrong (and I
might very well be), but that is not the same track as side
a of spltrmx12.

I have the 12" and it sounds TOALLY wrong played at 33rpm
(which is the only speed that would make it 8:51ish). 45rpm
puts it at 6:32.

the b-side is, without any doubt, supposed to be played at
45rpm... making it around 8min.

I don't know why I even bother - but the track on the A side
is called "Weissensee Against Im Glück" (Originally
composed by Neu!) and is around 8:51-8:48 in lenght...

choose speed

the rip does cut out early, because the speed changes
halfway through it starts at 45 then changes to 33

= it's not ok to troll up the discogs database with faulty
facts, just because you like it better on another speed...

avart, I give 2 shits about the speed of the track on the
neu comp... it would be about the gazillionth time a mistake
was made on a comp cd. if you have the actual ae record
(splitrmx12) look at the groove spacing. now listen to the
tracks/gear/fx they were doing/using right around that same
time. now play splitrmx12 at both speeds. if you still
think Ae intended it at 33prm, I can't help you. if you
PREFER it at that speed (or 100rpm, or whatever) then great.
play any record at any speed that pleases you.
