some reason...

nice and dark, yet strangely funny at the same time.

i loved that book so much, i wish someone would make a movie
of that soon.

moneyless character's attack on the robot apartment door
that demands a five-cent toll:
"I'll sue you," the door said as the first screw fell out.
Joe Chip said, "I've never been sued by a door. But I guess
I can live through it."

haha

off wikipedia:

"Tommy Pallotta, who produced the film adaptation of Dick's
A Scanner Darkly, said in a July 2006 interview that he
"still [has] the option for Ubik and will be looking to make
a live action feature from it."[2] According to Dick's
daughter Isa Dick Hackett, the film adaptation of Ubik is in
advanced negotiation.[3]

As of May 2008 the film has now been optioned by Celluloid
Dreams. The film will be produced by Hengameh Panahi of
Celluloid Dreams and Isa Dick Hackett, the author's
daughter, of Electric Shepherd Productions. It is slated to
go into production in early 2009.[1]"

i think it'd make a really good film if done well.
considering pkd wrote the screenplay years ago already, it
may well be good.
