audacity is my wave editor, but apart from that I don't use
any music software any more. Works well on linux.

another name you can check out is rosegarden, which is some
sort of sequencer type thing

slight hijack redirection of thread....

how do you guys handle mp3's in linux...

i got a fair few on this machine but when i browse , the
browser doesnt list the artist or album names just date
modified ,size and type etc.

i use linux for the web and windoz for music offline.

It's more useful to browse your mp3's via music player's
library: Banshee, Rhythmbox, Exaile, Amarok etc.

i thought foobar was king of the open source music player
world.

no? i coulda sworn there was a linux version, and i'm
apparently too lazy to go google for 5 seconds and find out.

There is no native version of foobar for linux at this
moment. I tried to run the last version through wine
emulator and it worked, but it looks quite ugly and doesn't
fit with my desktop enviroment: screenshot

With wine you can also run Naive Instruments Reaktor 5 and
P-heads Reason 3, 4 and they work very well.

Another crossplatform audio player - Songbird
