Flac/Cue Sheet Help Please.

Hey, what's up people? But anyway. I just downloaded a lot
of flac music files recently and have had problems with a
few of them.

The problem is that when I try to use the cue sheet in
conjunction with Autoflac to burn the music to CD as wave
files, an error occurs preventing this from happening. A
window thingy pops up stating that there is an error,
usually in line 7 or something like that.

Is there anyway to fix this?

The only alternative I know of so far is to use winamp to
convert flac to wave. But I don't think that the program
maintains the integrity of quality during the conversion
like Autoflac may. I don't know.

Is there anyway to fix the cue sheet?

you converted them back to .wav first right? The cue files
normally refer to the .wav file location so when using the
cue to burn it will look for the original wav files. If you
only have the flacs it will throw an error.

Ok, maybe I have no idea and make a complete ass of myself
when I say this but you could try Mediamonkey and burn
directly from flac to audio..? Works for me...

Use Burrrn. It records CD Audio directly form flac retaining
all data drom the cue sheet. I change the extension from
.wav to .flac in the cue sheet manualy (Ctrl+H will help),
but I'm not sure if it's necessay in case of Burrrn.

None of these options is likely to work if the cue sheet
refers to the file using the original ".wav" extension (ie
the cue sheet was created before the wave files were
flac'd).

Open up the .cue file in notepad, see if the filenames
listed are .flac or .wav
Check if they have the full path name (ie,
F:\MyHappyMusic\Rips\Big Cock - Licky Licky Licky.wav") or
just the filename (ie Big Cock - Licky Licky Licky.wav).
If they have the full path you'll have to remove the path
for each file listed in the cue so only filenames are
listed.

If the cue refers to each file as .flac and the files are
flac you're good to go.
If the cue refers to them as .wav and they're wav files,
you're good to go.
If the cue refers to them as .wav and they're flac files,
you'll need to either convert the flac to wav or change the
cue file to make the filenames refer to them as .flac.

...basically, make sure the files listed in the cue can be
found under the right names in the right directory.

Maybe there's a program that'll work all that out for you. I
don't know. But burrrn will almost certainly do the job once
the files can be found.

i usually convert to .wav, with dbpoweramp, and delete the
.wavs again after burning
flac equals same quality as wave, as you know

.wav or .flac?

Every cue sheet that I've encounter has had .wav file
extensions. Every flac music file that I've downloaded has
had a .flac extension.

Some work, some don't when I use Autoflac to burn them as
wave files on CD. I don't know, but maybe it has to do with
that once I've downloaded the flac files they become winamp
media files on my computer. I guess they do because I think
winamp is the default player for flac files. Or maybe not. I
tried to fix a broken cue sheet by replacing file
extensions. It didn't work. This is so confusing. Thanks
anyway.

I'll look into Burrrn and Mediamonkey.
Thanks for the advice everyone.

Here's a young David Bowie fighting for the rights
of long haired men.

Thanks again.

Licky Licky Licky by Big Cock?

Is this a leaked track from a new Aphex Twin album under
another alias?
