Ok, three words: What the fuck?!?

Mills is one of my heroes of basic, raw and minimal techno
music, so him teaming up with a philharmonic orchestra to
play live just doesn't make any sense to me. Does this suck
as much arse as I suspect? Anyone?

yeah, It's kinda silly. there can be only one Jarre. and
that's more than enough.

I will have to have a listen to this. It sounds quite
interesting as I love some of his tracks with (artificial)
strings.

I've just had a look, I didn't realise it had been out so
long!
I am to take a listen on bleep now.

Feel free to report back to HQ. I have my doubts about this
one though...

It didn't turn out bad. Better than I was expecting although
I didn't think it added much to the tracks, I mean they were
different but not necessarily better. Interesting project
anyway.

he just added some beats to orchestral sets of strings and
shit. truely,a genius work, adding minimal beats to
background orchestra.

He tried something out, it doesn't have to be 'genius work'.
It was enjoyable for what it was.

and orbital did that way better with michael kamen for event
horizon ost so its explored already. plus, his constant
rambling about ideology behind his music, its already
boring. its minimal, hasnt changed in last 15 years, will
not change, gets boring and the same after 3 tresor albums.

it's minimal, one track would last 15years if they could fit
it onto 1 CD.

"Does this suck as much arse as I suspect?"

YES! A truly horrible album.

i don't like this sort of things but i would love to be
there to enjoy it : )

mills is on a totally different level to everyone else in
techno music..most of detroit producers lost their touch up
to mid 90's and mills just keeps going strong (with few
exceptions)..just check out the new alpha centauri
ep..simply beautiful

Gah I hate retyping text when firefox fucks up..

ANYWAY!

Most orchestral collaborations are a sign that a band/artist
has become too big and is bit of an ego thing. I bought this
album ages ago and still give it a listen. 'The Bells' is a
highlight although it often just makes me want to hear the
real thing.
