I found a passport

Having a few drinks out in the city, i stumbled across some
chumps passport. This baby is worth the about 4000 dollars
on the black market. I found his adress and i'm going to
call him tomorrow. The thing is - if he doesnt offer me some
kind of reward, i might get a bit pissed, since it would be
worth a shitload of money if it was actually stolen. What
should i do? Ill probably just call him up, meet him
somewhere, and hand it over, but i need more than that. I'm
doing a very nice thing here!

I feel like George in an episode of Seinfeld... If he offers
me a bottle of wine or something, i will say "no thanks,
that's sweet of you". If he offers me nothing he's an
asshole!

What, he can just call the police and have it blocked? Then
when the black-market person uses it he'll get in trouble :)

hmm. DirtyPriest is indeed the rich guy. on top of that,
he's now the guy who knows the price of a stolen passport on
the black market, and is considering giving it back only at
an unfair price.

AWEFULLY.
SUSPICIOUS.

the right thing.

you stumbled on this by chance, its not like you've gone out
of your way to do this guy a favour. cant you go and hand it
in at your police station and be done with it? you should
give it back because its the decent thing to do, if you get
a reward thats great but you shouldnt be doing it for that
reason alone, as thats blackmail. if you dont then so what?
its no big deal. its the 'whats in it for me, fuck everyone
else' attitude that makes this world a worse place to live.

A story that has nothing to do with this:

A swedish girl i know, once found 4 passport photos of this
really weird and angry looking guy, while she was out
getting drunk with some of her friends.
They cut out the photos, so they got one each, that they put
in their wallet.

Then, several years later, they out getting drunk again, and
they actually see this guy standing in line to buy some hot
dogs. They all run up to him, and display the photos. He was
very confused, and kind of angry.

Give the passport back, but before doing so, crush the RFID
tag that is hidden in the rear cover with a hammer, that way
when he uses it, he'll be accused of tampering with it and
get arrested.
