Just a couple of samplers on Ableton.

The point? So I can produce an actual score of this piece to
give to some real string players...

I just worked it out. Once you've got the first few notes of
the "piece", it's fairly easy to work the rest out. It's
only something like a 13 bar loop played 4 times, twice
normally, then once just by the "cellos" an octave lower,
then for the final time by the "violins" thru some high pass
filters.

the point is most people here who can play a keyboard or a
stringed instrument, and for that matter those that cant,
could rub out something like this in about 5 minutes, so i
don't see whats so special about it.

Yeah, it only took me a few minutes... you don't have to
listen to it/comment on it if you don't want to, it's not
really special at all. I hope what WILL be special is
if/when I get a string group I know to actually play this. I
might score out/arrange Altibzz too...

Does the fact that something is simple to do mean that it

no it has more to the fact with it being a lazy piece of
music that sounds like it was knocked up in about 5 minutes
because it was, and that he's just showing off because its
being transcribed for real strings

I thought it had something to do with Autechre?

Mainly because it looks like a mangled up version of
Autechre, which, I gather, is how they usually name their
tracks.

lol I'm not showing off at all, I'm posting for some
people's enjoyment. Obviously you didn't enjoy it, so be
constructive with your criticism instead of just saying
"yeah it's shit, anyone could do this".

Marlowe: Yeah, I "transcribed" it from the original track.

DM: Altichyre is one of the tracks from Quaristice
(Versions).

the point on a circle is the width if its thin enough. Like
a pizza cutter. OMG, PIZZA. I should make a thread about
pizza right now.

I think noseburger might have meant the original track. I
kind of agree; it is the sort of thing you could come up
with very quickly if you were just beginning to learn the
piano. Simple music can be great, but this track (the
original Ae one) is just pretty 'meh' imho. Amber, Garbage
and Chiastic Slide all have truly beautiful melodic pieces
in a similar style.

Like what you've done with it, though! Look forward to
hearing it properly arranged. Why don't you try the same
thing with something else? I think their older material has
much more interesting harmonic and melodic ideas to
transcribe. :-)

Yeah, I would like to tackle some of the earlier stuff, that
would be brilliant. Hearing Drane2 performed acoustically
would be absolutely heavenly. I love that track.

Oh God that's so pointless and shit, what's the point in it?
It's shit. Yeah, no point in it whatsoever. You even use
breakbeats and that's been done like so many millions of
times Christ help me. I can't listen to it anymore it's so
bad.

Only joking, it's pretty cool. :)

Oh and just to come back to one of your first posts, I have
been playing piano/keyboard/synthesizer/whatever for over a
decade now, and I'm also a pretty established drummer.

Also coming back to your first post... you do realise this
is actually an Autechre track right?

stuff, and wouldnt say this was particularly good. no i
didnt know this was ae, but that doesnt really change
anything. ae havent been good for ages, but then what do i
know.
