dude that was the worst part about it, cameras are so like
conspicuous nowadays...autechre likes to perform in total
darkness so they can like jerk each other off under the
table or something, but when you wanna snap a foto a big
honkin red light shoots right at them so that you can
focus......oh well everybody else was snappin so i was
snappin too

another set but i didn't stick around, i had a long drive
home. so i'm assuming it didn't happen/you didn't stick
around either?

i couldn't stand to listen to rob hall try to remix aphex
twin stuff... i was kind of disappointed in hearing his live
sets 3 times..... but it's all good... ae's set was wicked.

So I drove from KC with my cousin to go, only to find that
my cousin hadn't bought tickets. Of course I didn't find
this out until we were already there, at which point he
explained to me that he didn't buy them because he thought
the site said they were all at the door.

my god, had a blast.
got there somewhat late, rob hall was on.
dropped curve free fall remix, gescom a2 (mother-of-god...),
and a couple other goodies.

ae went on, swithed up the tracks a bit from the previous
shows. once that 2nd track went on (from the LA recording),
we all went nuts. danced our asses off the whole time.

what is up with abbey/chicago?
it seemed like the majority of people there were there
because it was the place to be on a fri or sat night?

not many people dancing/getting down at all. other people
dancing like they weren't even listening to the music. and
why did it end so early? they stopped/lights on around 1am
or so, and kicked everyone out by 130? unbelievable.
didn't catch massonix, rob hall was pretty good. we kept
yelling out THE TUSS to see if he would drop one,
didnt...but ended with vbs.redolf off analord 12 :)

didn't have anyplace else to go (we assumed abbey would go
late, till 4) ... so ended up driving downtown. swung up to
the metro (only other place i know of in chicago) and it was
already shutdown, but smart bar was going on (LOL) so we
went in there for the last 50min or so of drinking and
proceeded to people watch... wow... just wow

i saw one lad in a black afx shirt, but that was about it.
i had a black jacket on and white shirt that said acid haus
if anyone bumped into me.

kept trying to yell out, DANCE , YOU FUCKS.

there was one d00der that was on 8 pills or
somefuckofthatnature and was dancing with us up front and
kept putting his hands on my girl's back and rubbing up
against her. she wanted to switch spots with me, so next
thing you know he's doing it to me too! guy wouldn't leave
any of us alone. i'd be dancing and feel a hand rubbing on
my back and i turn and like wtf? he finally moved on and
started doing it to another girl 1/2 way through the set :)

some guy next to me was complaining about how people should
be moving around and i agreed but this was an autechre show
which is full of horribly introverted pot smoking nerds who
have a sophistication complex. wasn't expecting the entire
crowd to dance but i was pleased with the amount of people
moving around.

mimi you were standing directly behind me in line (i think)
but i didn't say anything because the idea of saying 'HEY I
KNOW YOU FROM XLTRONIC ISN'T THAT DEPRESSING' is a put off.

I AM SO OVER YOUR SARAH MARSHAL.

I wish I had not been so distracted by the lady friend
during this show. I didn't get one picture of the autechre
doodz. was really neat experiencing this during my first
visit to chicago ever tho!

other than seeing you when you entered the line i didn't
even turn around to look behind me much, though i guess it
could have been someone else entirely. almost certain i
recognized the face though.

in any case i'm glad i didn't say anything because i could
have been totally wrong. i said hi to some guy that i played
a show with IN chicago and he smiled at me in that 'you're
nuts and i don't know you' sort of way. and this guy set up
a show with me! ridiculous.
