anybody else heard of these guys? its really strange,
quirky, pseudo-pop. the tracks hit so many different genres,
they almost border on the mr. bungle end of avant garde, but
have a much more stable song structure. similar sounds to
the pixies and the fiery furnaces with operatic vocals and
strings throw in for good measure.

It's as if Tuxedomoon decided to do a synth-dance-pop-rock
album. Full freedom in genre mixing without sacrificing a
laid-back and sentimental athmosphere.
It's full of Bungle-like quirky sounds. Take it in the face
has this Third Eye Foundation sample playing throughout.
What else? Some TV on the Radio - for example in Ethnic
Instrument.

Are these guys well-known? They should be.

Very good shit, which I only discovered about 2 weeks ago.

Try Ham and The Horse though, they're better than this album
and show what The Chap are really about; Moody, intimate and
naturalistic Indietronica.

Can't believe I missed these guys by about a week of
starting my course here at Brighton. Pretty shitty...

I got The Ham a couple of hours ago. It's very good as well,
but I still prefer Mega Breakfast. Maybe it will change
after a couple of listens though.

Mebbe it's something to do with chronology- I listened to
Mega Breakfast first, so Ham and The Horse seemed better to
me- closer to the root of what The Chap is.

MB is too slick, polished and plasticky for me now. This is
very different to the first two, so I guess if you like it
more, then fairplay- mebbe you just like this style more or
eventually you will go back to earlier albums. Only time
will tell! =)
