I am looking for a freeware program that is like Reaktor.
I was thinking about maybe csound.

Well you could try SynthEdit, the only thing that comes
close to Reaktor in my mind, even though it is shareware.
The free trial is fully functional but you are limited to a
smaller number of patches.

Another program that I remember playing around with is
Jeskola Buzz, at buzzmachines.com. Really easy to use (and
freeware), while Csound is rather difficult to get into.

It's worth that $50 to register if you're thinking of
selling your VSTs off, otherwise it's pretty useless.
I use SynthEdit way more than Reaktor cos it's simpler,
faster, and I find more effective. Go grab it now.

hahaha. REAL men design their own synths with electronic
components!
Once my design is complete VSTs can kiss my bum.

that depends on how you use synthedit, you could program
your own oscillator modules for example

circuit bending != designing.

I think reaktor sounds pretty good. I've multi sampled it
into my hardware sampler quite a few times, so it can't be
too awful.

Csound is great, but extremely hard to get into. Prepare to
type in shitloads of code.

The Csound developers have previoulsy mentioned "I Care
Because You Do" as an album which - at least to some degree
- was made with this program.
