and US, South Park, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The X Files,
Extras, 24, Lost, Oz, Sopranos and Babylon 5.

series is completed before I watch it.

And snaps, I forgot to add Twin Peaks to my list!

Dexter is the best show on TV right now, IMO. I rented the
first season, and couldn't stop watching it until I saw the
last episode. Waiting for the 2nd season to come out on DVD
or canadian TV.

Battlestar Gallactica is actually a really good show. I
kind of snubbed my nose at it when I heard about it, then
some friends started getting real into it and were talking
it up. I started borrowing the seasons and have to admit it
is very well made.

In other dork news I watched the Heroes season 3 premier
last night and thought it was pretty bad. Season 1 was
pretty good for the most part, but last season went from
boring and drawn out to completely over the top, and now
this was just as bad if not getting worse.

finally started BSG myself... actually just finished season
2 last night.

it's a terrific show! great characters and mythology and
high production values. It's right up there with the best
seasons of Babylon 5 and Deep Space Nine so far.

i've heard great things about bsg, althought i haven't
gotten into it myself, which is somewhat surprising
considering i am such a trekkie at heart. then again, i
never really liked ds9, at least the first season or two
which is all i've really seen. does it get much better?

as for what i DO watch (in terms of currently airing
shows):

Heroes - season premier last night was fucking eeeeeeepic.
It pretty much destroyed all of season two in only two
episodes. i really hope they can keep the scope of the
series as huge as it is, season one was amazing but season 2
seriously disappointed in places.

House - i'm downloading ep 2 as we speak/as i type. the
premier was excellent, i love the episodes which rely on the
relationship between house and wilson because it reminds me
so much of the relationships i have with some of my friends.
(i'm kinda like house, minus the sexy and the alway
rightness, which basically just makes me an arrogant drug
addicted ass. oh well.)

Fringe - interesting series, great to see more out of the
head of abrams (can't fucking WAIT for the start of season 5
of lost omggggg), but so far this strikes me too much as
trying to get a rehash of xfiles going with maybe a splash
of that show numb3rs thrown in there for good measure (a
decent series, my dad watches it so i catch the tivo'd eps
whenever i'm home). theyre gonna have to flesh out the
characters a bit more and establish an ongoing subplot for
this to really establish itself.

True Blood - recommended by tragedy and the reasons are
obvious. again, its only in the first few episodes here, but
its at the make-or-break point where if we dont get
emotionally involved in the main characters it's gonna crash
and burn. gratuitous sex scenes and the fact that it took
me over and episode to get pash the awful souther drawl are
other hurdles this series will have to clear.

Boston Legal - the first 3 seasons of this show are pure
brilliance, but season 4 let me down a significant amount. i
haven't watched the new eps but my

seasons 1 and 2 of DS9 are generally accepted to be the
weakest seasons of the show, and I agree... It gets cookin'
in season 3 and really sets fire in season 4 and on.

Episode by episode: The Next Generation is unmatched- my
absolute favorite show of all time. Simply the best
characters ever.

If taken as a whole though, DS9 might have the edge, simply
because- like Lost, there's so much payoff to all the
building to goes on.

--
Fringe--- gah. I tried the pilot but shut it off halfway
through. It was like X Files mixed with CSI directed by some
MTV jackoff. Nothing new, stale writing-- don't think I'll
be coming back for this one.

Can't wait for season 5 of Lost either. epguides.com/lost says
Jan 1st, but who knows.

it's been announced as being in january 2009 SOMETIME, it
would be death for a studio to release a series premier like
that on new years day - people are either too hung over to
watch or too busy partying more.

yeah that was my thought as well.

*spoilers ahead*

It's gonna be great either way. I got a little pool going on
with some friends as to whether Jin's still alive. I say he
is-- no on-camera death is very suspicious.

he is. he's still cast as a regular on the show, which means
it won't be just flash backs/forwards either.

on another note, the flashback/forward gimmick is officially
gone. from now on, each ep is gonna focus on two story lines
- one on the island, one off, and it will deal with what
happened on the island after the o6 left and how they plan
to get back to the island.
