How do you recognize intelligence in a person? I say it is
impossible (through conversation). Some very brilliant
people are not able to converse well

Ability to recognize logical relationships between concepts
and expand on them. Making sensible connections.

I don't think its impossible, but I also don't think
someones ability to converse is a definitive measure of
their intelligence.

Also, if the person is wearing a monocle.

There are several sorts of intelligence, me think. Some can
be seen in the conversation, some can't.

What you mean is, it isn't impossible to ascertain a general
intelligence level from conversation, but that it is not the
be-all and end-all of the matter.

This thread sucks.

The first sign of intelligence that I look for is whether or
not one has posted in this thread.

If so, there is none.

"Ability to recognize logical relationships between concepts

and expand on them."

Yes. I tend to find that lots of people have an inability to
even talk about concepts, full stop. They can only refer to
specific events (to laugh or bitch about them, most
probably), specific films or music, and can never sustain a
conversation about anything abstract or more "general". Even
when they do talk about, say, art, there is no real
discussion, either, and if you attempt to engage in a
discussioin they look at you as if you were a bit mental and
change the subject or talk to someone else.

But they're probably far better at doing anything practical
than me, and probably would be better at say, running a
business or selling things or playing sport or talking about
the sort of things most people want to talk about, so all
the power to them. I think.

If the person has a trimmed *beard and or glasses you know
you're in the presence of a remarkably intelligent person.

*Not applicable to women because we all know they are dumb.

All human brains have the same basic conglomerate of
underlying replicating genes, so when you see idiots walking
around obsessed with sex with an ability to mentally process
stereoscopic vision to do amazing feats like mass killing
jews and who are mostly all tricked by the same illusions,
that's pretty much the core of intelligence you can expect
in this limited range of human minds with exceptions like
kim peak. Also intelligence and evil are proportional so
just find evil people and they're the most intelligent.

Whether or not the person asks for biscuits are when they
are looking for refrigerated dough.
