I could, in theory, listen to any commercially available
album in one sitting without skipping a track. Does that
make me special?

I can listen to most albums all the way through in one
sitting. Untilted's in mine, definitely though.

I couldn't even read this thread in one sitting, I'm that
media on-stream multi platformed that unless I can have all
my senses "fucking battered" by any one given nano second of
time then I'm off skipping to another Culture Parp ideally
that's entirely maleable by my intervention and looks and
sounds different from wherever the wii controller strapped
to my sickly arse is facing.

agree with thatne

but a few specifics:
Beck - Odelay
Radiohead - Kid A/OK Computer
Daft Punk - Homework/Discovery
Justice - Cross
Digitalism - Idealism
I Monster - Neveroddoreven
Hot Chip - The Warning
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
The Avalanches - ...Since I Left You
Mindless Self Indulgence - Frankenstein Girls Will Seem
Strangely Sexy

of course there's more, but these are some of the ones i
couldn't image being single tracks.

not exactly the same but albums i consider one giant song or
don't skip a track out of dislike for the track:

tim hecker - haunt me, haunt me, do it again
earth - hex

i think everyone generally listens to whole albums, at least
'music enthusiasts'

you shouldn't let people get to you like that.

I can make it through a lot of ambience albums in full,
especially while reading. (Lustmord- Heresy, Steve Roach-
Midnight Moon are probably my two favorites. Lots of stuff
like Tim Hecker and Brian Eno too, I can always have that on
in the background)

As far as listening with complete attention for the entire
album there are only a few:

Pink Floyd- Dark Side Of The Moon
Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here
Autechre- Confield
Boards Of Canada- Music Has The Right To Children

drukQs would be here as well if it weren't for Father,
Aussois, Bit 4, Lornaderek, and Gwarek 2. Those tracks have
to be skipped.

I don't really listen to full albums in one sitting anymore.
I guess the mp3 age is starting to finally ruin me.
Basically with my laptop and ipod, I usually just copy my
cds on there and set it to shuffle.

Back when my monetary funds were lower I could basically
only afford maybe 1 or 2 cds every couple of weeks, so I'd
really give those some good listens and really get into
them. I don't really do that anymore, which is a shame I
guess.
