it's fine with me.

Christmas is great. Merry Christmas to you all. I may not be
able to go to the pub tonight, but even that won't spoil it.

Not too fussed either way really. I think if you ignore the
fact that it seems to be an excuse for the corporations to
harrass you more than normal it's ok.

It's alright for me because i usually have more money at
this time of year. So that means a record and book binge in
the new year!

whenever i point out all the contradictions to do with
christmas, i can see the defence mechanism open up. one
fuelled entirely by a childish greed, which even i cannot
control.

thanks capitalism. you've cheapened existence for all.

Christmas is ok, I guess.

That's very disingenuous. All of the great things about
Christmas are non-capitalistic: the fairy lights, the tree,
the gathering of family, the children running about
excitedly.

If you wish to define Christmas using Capitalism, do so, but
don't impose it as the definition of Christmas.

what i'm saying is that the market has capitalised on
greediness, taken away the spirituality, meaning etc, and
when it comes to debate about celebrating christmas and the
irony of disbelievers taking part, it's that human trait of
greediness which does the most of the 'well we may as well
have it' chatter

i'm all for togetherness, but why can't we be together all
year round?

(i don't define christmas usually by capitalism, but you
can't deny it hasn't been massively hijacked by it)

Totally, it has, taken what should be a nice little bonanza
for children into some kind of grotesque parody of giving.

Think back to when you were a little kid and how awesome
Christmas time was. Not just the presents, but the whole
atmosphere, staying up late looking for Santa's slay flying
through the sky. That's what Christmas is all about.

As you get older you can't help but get a little jaded with
all the shopping and whatnot, but you can always try and
re-live that childhood Christmas nostalgia.

Merry X-mas everyone.

When you were a boy, Xmas was a fantasy, but you didn't know
what fantasy was.

Now you know what fantasy is you can never go back.

What next? You want mommy to breast feed you?

i just went grocery shopping and had 2 little chit chat
conversations with one middle aged and one elderly woman
about the foods and drinks we were about to put in our
shopping baskets. (avocados that had nearly ran out of stock
and white wine recommendation).

i don't recall anything similar happening since, well,
probably last christmas.

they're small things, but they amaze me. Especially since i
generally try to avoid unnecesary conversations.

conclusion: people are nicer when they know christmas is
happening soon. It's ridiculous but true.

I helped an old granny carry something up a flight of
stairs, she thanked me profusely and said merry christmas.
It was like something out of Dickens.

"Monoid for moderator!"
Monoiderator?
Neeyu, Neeyuk,

I wish I was home with my family right now. I didn't get the
time off work to go home for Christmas. I got Xmas day off,
but I can make the 12 hour travel there and then 12 hour
back.

I'm pretty bummed out about it actually. I don't care about
the present my families doesn't got a lot of cash, it would
just be cool to see my dog and my parents and my brother and
eat food together. Even my gf won't visit me cause shes away
with her folks.

On top of that I just moved out from my apt cause my knife
wielding (ex)roomate was fucking insane, and it was done so
quickly now I'm in this new place and I feel all fucked up
and it just sucks feeling not like shit, but left out.

So I can't agree with you guys at all I wish I was home for
the holidays because I'm having a really shitty time lately,
especially today and most likely tomorrow.

At least blipfest was great ;D
