Holy fuck, this is so so so lush. I've got it set up at the
moment doing some weird echo stuff with my guitar. Think
Adrian Belew's solo on Born Under Punches by Talking Heads.
Whoa. Whoa. Whoa.

Elektron kick ass.

no...i've only owned my machinedrum a few weeks clear from
quitting work, i've mainly been playing with it in max using
sysex, trying to find ways to get the best from the
machinedrum interface with the freedom of max.
... not there yet but slowly getting there...

The samples from users Ive heard of the MD have sounded flat
and thin. Kinda sterile . The word powdery comes to mind.

That's cos the demos are shite.

Elektron are an amazing company but they've got no idea
about advertising, they seriously undersell the Machinedrum.
It's got so many huge features (16x 3-note-polyphonic MIDI
sequencing, CTRL-AL feature, the MD is a LUSH MIDI
controller for say Ableton Live, etc.) that they don't even
mention in the manual or anywhere else. It's a real shame.

The demos on their page give NO ideas to what the MD can
really really do. I've managed to get massive thumping bassy
hardcore industrial techno rave out of it (BOOM BOOM BOOM
BOOM) then switch that into Ae-like clicking (tik tik tik
tiiiikkkkkkkkktktkktktkrrr)

I want a roland r8.

I wish they would update sounds for it.

I love that you can do nuance control, human rhythm control,
so much about that machine is voodoo. Its sounds so 80's
though.
