Wow, Christmas Is Almost Upon Us!

And, gee whizz, I've barely seen a smile all month!
In the street, there are endless processions of dour faces,
their gracelessness on exhibition as they glare impatiently
from out their darkened eyes!

This year has really topped all others for having absolutely
zero Christmas cheer. I, however, have a lovely 6½ foot
tree festooned with lights, tinsels, and baubles (the last
of which my daughter enjoys taking off the tree and
throwing), and have already watched the obligatory
Flintsones Christmas episode and A Charlie Brown
Christmas
. Roll on December 25th.

Christmas 2007 - The Year Santa Was Popped.

R.I.P. Santy Claws.

Did you know that The Flintstones (that you moronically
misspelled) was a modern family living in the stone age and
that The Jetsons was a modern family living in the future?
They just rehashed the concept and called it day.

I don't like Coca-Cola so I don't celebrate Christmas.

Yes, it was quite moronic to accidentally miss out the
second 't', thanks for the gracious call-out. (psst, it's
which you not that you, from that
which
--You can omit the that because it's already
been stated. I wouldn't bring it up, but your post suggests
a disagreeable nature, and I would not want you to seem
ignorant of the laws of English grammar.)

Thanks for enlightening me RE: Coca-Cola inventing
Christmas.

Feel free to remove the humbug from your gob and crack a
smile.

a HAMMER. AND THEN I'LL BE LIKE MERRY CHRISTMAS
MOTHERFUCKER YAA!! YAA!!! YAA!!!! And he'll be all bloody
red and bashed open, and I'll add some green sprinkles on
top to make it holiday colors then eat it.

It was intentional, I didn't want you to look ridiculous in
front of the whole xltronic community. How you say, throw a
bone?

Don't forget to drink Coca-Cola on your Christmas Eve or
Santa will not be cheery!

Oh and you're wasting precious natural resources by having a
tree with ridiculous lights and other "seasonal decorations"
ON 24/7, you're doing more bad than good! You're destroying
the planet with your festivities.

I'll admit I haven't had very much holiday cheer this year,
either. Once the Christmas parties start rolling around,
I'll force myself to have a good time, at least when people
are watching, that is. Christmas just doesn't really hold
much magic for me, anymore. With each passing year, I yearn
more and more to be young and carefree again. I miss the
days when Christmas meant more than just trees, lights and
gifts. There was something wonderous and exciting to it that
has gone away. Perhaps, when I have kids of my own, some of
that magic will return.

At any rate, Happy Holidays everybody.

I've noticed a lot more shootings reported from USA. Is it
the holiday spirit?

I'm going to be working the 22, 23, 25 and 26th. BOO!!!

But I'm in good spirit; pinnekjøtt abounds! So does
alcohol!

PS: Christmas is the 24th, not the 25th you stupid gay
Anglo-Saxon Englishmen!

Christmas, for me, has always been about the family coming
together once a year--the children running about crazy with
their new toys, the adults stuffing their faces and getting
drunk, then playing newly-opened board games of an evening
while some Christmas CD is playing, or the Christmas film is
on the television. And, the Christmas Tree too, with its
magical lights .

The depressing thing this year is that the façade seems to
have crumbled now--the corporations aren't even pretending
they want anything but the consumers' money, and the
consumers are trotting around shops looking mean, not even
miserable, just mean.

Still--I love Christmas and the Christmas spirit, and I have
my little daughter who loves looking at Christmas trees when
she passes them, and who'll be excited on the 25th when she
has some presents to unwrap, which I won't have spent a
fortune on, but which she'll have fun with.

I haven't felt festive since I was about 14 to be perfectly
honest. It is nice not to have to work however, and it's
always a treat to have endless supplies of food and alcohol.
I also tend to buy myself something big as a seasonal treat
(like a new computer something), but I have everything I
need already this christmas.

I wonder what the family will get drunk and argue about this
christmas.

grinch. Also, what do you mean it's nice not to work? You
never work. ALSO you most certainly don't have all you need
this Christmas. There's one thing you need that begins with
"Ph" and ends with "one"

but my christmas 'spirit' is totally gone, it's never been
as bad as this year! i'm having a good time though, so i
guess that's all that matters? i remember the MAGIC of
christmas though, it's sort of gone or at least hasn't
arrived yet. maybe it's because there's no snow anymore!

Erm, isn't it same everytime it comes around? People get
really touchy too. But at least on christmas day the shops
aren't open and people let it go.

I've got a large obnoxious family and we all converge so
it's hard not to notice, and often suffocating. And even
while trying to brood and avoid them, it's undeniably fun at
times. Christmas is all about the food, the drunken
conversations, creating elaborate Lego works, and playing
multi-player videogames, the commercialism pretty much gets
left behind more this time of year than any other,
actually.

Still glad when everybody leaves and I can jerk off in
peace.

I agree. There's something different this year. People are
behaving in the least Christmassy way I've ever seen them
behave at any Christmas.

My Christmas will be smothered with writing and reading
essays, of course. I should have dropped out of this course
a year ago.

I'm gonna get you all an awesome present, but I won't
tell you what it is! You have to wait until christmas!! ...
... ... *tick, tock, tick, tock*, ... ... Oh, I can't stand
it any longer! Its ARMAGEDDON! :D !!! But you still have to
wait until christmas to receive it, because that was the
date of birth or death or first time getting laid or some
such event of some imaginary character I forget the name of-
let's just call him Hank. I BELIEVE IN HANK THE MOST!
May Hank bless you all with a white christmas (snow pun
intended but I meant that as racist).
