i know there are a few cats on here writing music, i need to get hold of some samples cds, but i just want drum hits, not so much loops, samples for drum and bass, electro ect i have NI synthetic drums 1&2, so something similar would be great, i have a hard time searching for them in the shops...

this is supposedly pretty good. i've heard it's what tommy j used for a lot of the drums on ultravisitor.
otherwise id recommend continuing with the native instruments series - they're ace.

oh, and theres obviously always recording your own samples. get a decent digital audio recorder and walk around, getting all sorts of thumps, dings, and slaps. just hit everything you see and sort out whats good later.
(i know it adds to the charm of the board, but sometimes i really do wish we had an edit feature.)

whatever your budget can stretch to really. ive done it with one of those $30 microcasette recorders and lots of pitch shifting and other kinds of modification to the sound.
just toy with shit, if youre really strapped for cash just start cutting chunks out of other tracks and piece it together. sound likes to be dirty.

I have a SHIT-LOAD of drum samples--if you use torrents, I'll make a torrent, upload it to thepiratebay, and link to it here

marlowe do you have your own tracker? if so, seed it and send the torrent to larn555@yahoo.co.uk if not then maybe you can create a torrent through a site. it would be a big help, i would be very much in your debt for this favor.
