well, smokers that have tried quitting. ever think 'k, this
is the day' and you toss your lighter and matches. then you
start up smoking again and you gotta use a fuckin' toaster
or stove element all day. its snowing and im not getting
matches.

I haven't smoked for some time now: I always found the ease
of quitting came in cycles. There were times when I stopped
smoking and didn't get any withdrawal symptoms at all, and
there were times when I got withdrawal symptoms about an
hour after I "stopped".

the correct way to quit smoking (or any addiction) is to
slowly wean (?) yourself off the habit over a period of
weeks days and months, gradually cutting down on your intake
until eventually you dont need to smoke at all ! Trying to
quit cold turkey is just gonna end in tears and horrible
failure ! FACT

naaa totally Quit ....take the pain then start up
again....then QUIT full on take the pain......after 4 or 5
goes you learn to control the pain switch your mind from the
thought its masacistic just like smoking another level of
feel... its rather interesting ...id start again and quit
just to experience the quiting feeling again i love it. but
i've found another level now and that is the feel of health
and cleanliness.

but i have damaged myself. ..thats what made me wanna
quit....its sad that it takes serious injury for a smoker to
realise that all these serious warnings are not just for
everyone else. it creeps up on you .....and before you know
it your fu=ked. Just like the pollution destroying planet
earth.

I'm trying to quit by smoking pipe tobacco. It's not really
working that well.

I had a similar problem quitting the crack pipe (well it was
just a broken biro with a rock in one end). Keep trying,
you'll get there in the end.

its like.......giving up oxygen for 1 minute 30
secs......its a freaking bitch....but when you come back
....its an awesome rush.

smoking is like holding your breath. ...stops oxygen getting
to your vitals.

sugar , TV , nicotene , caffine , alcholol , lack of
exercise , fast food .give it all up ...perhaps all at the
same time.,.it toughens your mind up., teaches you how to
control discomfort.

its all in the mind it may seem like physical pain ...in a
way it is of course, but it can be controlled by your
receiver , this over powering sensation (the need) can be
turned down in your mind. like a volume control. or even
better a switch ...think of something else ....it goes away
after a few moments if you focus hard on something else.. it
helps raise your thresholds.

the most destructive i found was caffeine i slept for days
without it.( well a long time , rarely could i be arsed to
get up) but after a while i was free of the shit.( a few
days 3 -4 ) all this helps level out your energies. freaking
hell i sound like a hippy.. .

skin aaahp

hek if i help one person it was worth it

smokers just look more and more stupid to me as i go longer
and longer without smoking. it smells worse and worse to
me. i see a smoker on the street and i begin to wish i had
a fart in the chamber because i would so love to fart on
them as i pass. sadly, i never have a fart in the chamber.
as soon as one presents itself i fire it off, never thinking
about saving it for a smoker. i am not a smoker but i am
now, and will always be, a farter.

point out what a stupid habit it is. whenever i light up in
front of him he gives this cuntish sigh. i just want to
smack him.

I have a valid argument for smoking in crowded bars:

It makes the smell of farts disappear in a fog of toasted
tobacco. But that's just my opinion.

Here in Norway we've had non-smoking in public places for a
couple of years. I guess it's alright, except that I smell
other people's farts in bars.

I must admit I smoke. I'm not proud of it, nor am I ashamed.
It's just my own fucking problem, and I have to deal with
the consequences of it. That's OK with me.

(*sob* I've tried to quit, but I can't.)

it's true about stinky clubs, since the ban all you can
smell is rotten sweat and farts by the end of the night

i like smoking. and i've got no fucking willpower. it has
noticeably messed up my lungage though, been fighting off a
chest infection for about 2 months. not good

i told myself i'd stop (really stop, as opposed to the other
half-hearted attempts) when I reach ten years of smoking. I
have two years left. we'll see. but if i had to draw a line
chart of cigarettes per day over the past 8 years it would
certainly be on the decline. i smoked about four cigarettes
today. that's not so bad really.

i used to light butts off the toaster even when i wasn't
quitting. mostly at tragedy's house when we were dating and
poor as hell.

now i just will habitually light 'em off of the stove (gotta
attack from the side) if it's near by.

This week I've been smoking for the first time in three
months. But don't worry, there's no need to keep that
candle around or do the lean/tilt stove dives, for I got
matches! To roll them up between my fingers is great fun
and the physical act of smoking is always relaxing. It's
just that as thing go, nicotine doesn't do much for me at
all. When I've been chain-smoking and wanted to quit, I've
had to finish the pack first. Like that orignal poster, I
have a very weak will. Also, I have been known to use
toasters, that 20 seconds can take a lifetime.

Quitting caffeine is the hardest, you get some bad headaches
and dysfunctions. If you can survive it, it's really insane
how good you feel. Try not to get back on it.

I miss smoking inside while making music. I always felt
really comfortable doing that. Something awesome about it I
have no clue what it is. If only they could make a smoke
that doesn't screw with your health !

It's a stupid habit, but it's also when of the most
comforting habits on earth. A cigarette when needed is the
next best thing to being with a girl you love.

Quiting is hard to do if you like to drink.
Also, when you are stressed it's good.

It's easy to quit, just staying quit for more then a year is
hard because you will always want to have one. I smoke about
2 packs a year now.

It's such a social thing, it sucks standing outside when you
don't smoke. I like smoking, it's great, I think it ain't so
bad if you do it every now and then.

evolume your Lord of the Pit Avatar rules.

me....and have a nice smoke with me........only kiddin ...i
would grab my face and ram it down the toilet. do you
understand???? only when you get cancer ay? tooo late you
freak. why give up when your damaged? thats harder to
do....give up when your young and have the ability to
recover..its not actually hard to do if your mates dont
smoke

shall we all just destroy labor and tories?? they are frkin
killers of their own kind. cigarettes should now only be
available from a doctor. not sold to kids at corner shops.

people tell me to quit but i don't listen.......
pretty much everything will kill you these days anyway ;)
