The only good thing I can think of that came (indirectly) from Scientology was Keith Code's technique for improving your cornering speed/safety on motorbikes (it was influenced by dianetics and scientologists' beliefs in learning). I suppose it spawned a religion that even the Hari Krishnas can point at and laugh...

I would always pick Philip...All of his novels and stories I have read have been so good.
A Scanner Darkly ( audio book read by Paul Giomatti ) was classic.
