Excellent! Razorblade alcohol Slide is regarded by many as
the nearest to a pop song turntabilism has produced and yet
still everyone says, "but it'd never be played on radio!"
You've proven them wrong :)

It's DJ Q-bert and DJ D-Styles (one of my favourites and IMO
most under-appreciated of the "big stars" of turntabilism)
together, although it's only listed as a Q-bert track. If
you see it in the animated film version of wave twisters,
you'll see Q and D playing it (they're on the baddies side!)

The booming bass (kick drum) in this is just like the one on
the qbert track- they go well together.

If you like D-Styles, check out the Bastrd Language Tour
DVD- it's him and 4 other (even lesser known) turntabilists
playing together in a highly orchestrated (no improv) way,
to make music that sounds nothing like turntabilism,
sort of lounge and early jazz feel to it as well as funny
sci-fi stuff. I played some to my Dad, who likes Jazz and he
agreed it sounds just like a real band.

yea i was thinking about that kick drum in the qbert track.
"v-proc" i always saw as an answer record to "grindin'"
(best neptunes beat ever) which is why this is on now..

richard devine hopefully will make sense after this

i'll look for that dvd, ceri! thanks

i love the disparity between the roots song and the buck65
song.. 2 different opinions of what hip-hop is and both are
right

Sorry I been sporadic in my tuning in, my schedule has been
HELL the past few months. I hope you get a good timeslot
next semester so I can listen in.

Best of the summer to you Tits (and say hello to LeCoeur for
me)!

*thumbs up* :)

well i feel like the boy who cried wolf now but it's good
news for those who like listening to my show: i just got an
email from the station manager saying she expects us all to
broadcast next week (finals week) and since i don't have a
test or paper due that day i'll be back at the same time.

anyone have a mu-ziq request from the 2cd tango, royal, or
bilious? how about a request for something i haven't played
from ultravisitor?

M-ziq request - Meinheld or Johnny Mastricht, please :)

Good to hear there'll be a show next week.

sounds silly but i already played both of those this school
year (fall semester) and i make a point to not repeat
anything, so any other requests? interestingly those are the
only 2 i've played so far from bilious.

ceri btw today in the mail i received the new dj shadow &
cut chemist "product placement on tour" dvd (w/ bonus live
cd)! i don't have the time to watch (can't wait till summer
starts!!!!) but from what i've read it's amazing! i got it
from djshadow.com. they fouled up my order initially
(somehow they never sent it out, when i reminded them 2 1/2
weeks after the order they said it never arrived in their
inbox but they'll send it immediately.. and so i got it in 2
days) but now i have one copy to view and one to hold on to
for years until it's worth a gazillion dollars as all dj
shadow out of print items are.
