I've read blogs that claimed she was backstage, sobbing her eyes out and blaming her band. Turns out the audio engineer played the wrong tape for her lip-synch duties and she lost it... The band wasn't exactly playing live, either, on second viewing. I love what mainstream music has become...unintentionally funny and intentionally retarded. (The show, BTW, was Saturday Night Live hosted by Jude Law tonight. SNL is usually not funny and DEFINITELY retarded...except for Robert Smiegel cartoons, of course) ;) :P |

I think some people, myself included, have a grudge towards pop music in that its largely a corporate brand. Ashlee simpson is a manufactured product that goes triple platnum and doesnt work for it. Why should she get all those resources pooled into marketing her faux album when plenty of artists are working their ass off and getting no support? I think thats where the resentment lies. |

well the music industry is shit right now as everything is basically decided by clearchannel, who ironically dont have the word music at all in their business creed. clear channel isn't set up to decide if a band/artist/group is talented, worthy of money, etc or even if the music is good, it's all based on whether its profitable or not. |
