I really like the sound of these ones and they aren't super expensive white noise cancelling super 169 dollars or something:
aiwa hp-x222
I'll probably buy this exact kind again when I get new ones.

cant go wrong with sennheisers imo.
i got a pair of hd570. nice clean sound, very impressive. the comfort is hard to beat. the only thing i dislike is that theyre 'opened' headphones, so anyone sitting near can hear the music out of these headphones.
i also have a pair of hd265. these are 'closed', so the sound doesnt escape. a little less comfortable than the hd570 though. and the bass is a bit too loud. apart from that, theyre by far my favorite headphones.

Got myself a pair of HD280 Pro. They are gigantic, I look like a fool in the subway but they have an isolation of 30db therefore it's like a pure heaven of tranquility wherever I go.
They lack a little in bass presence, but the bass is fucking deep. I wish it had it's mid-bass a little more present (even after 200 hours of play). Some Autechre stuff just don't sound the same unless I EQ' the CD player (which I do). My older Grado Labs headphones, while being open, therefore not good for outside listening, they have great bass presence all around the low spectrum. No need for EQ.

i like the koss portapros. especially since i can wear them under my bike helmet
they do sound great though and are small and pretty cheap. not really the class of the sennheisers you guys are talking about, but i mean i dont know how much that matters when youre out and about listening to a portable or something.

Hahahah Those just look ridiculous. Especially for like 900 dollars. Might as well just get some fucking speakers dude.
Anyone have experience with sennheiser 600 or 650 vs. beyerdynamic 880?

I have the Big Big Headphones.... I wouldn't use any other ones.
I hate when the sound is crap and when the headphones have to go inside your fucking ear. I prefer the huge stuff, with extra cushion for comfort.. And the kick arse sound. :) I don't mind looking silly while i walk in town.
