i know you said ONLY among the following, but I feel that
John Coltrane should have "my favorite things." It simply IS
my favorite album by this man! I can't help it!

thanks drunken mastah.
nice to see a name i recognise on the mb after my time
away.

i'd really appreciate your pick of the others i listed if
you have the time.
cheers.

yeah, I haven't really listened too much to any of the
others (not entire albums, at least...). I've heard quite a
bit of two lone swordsmen and amon tobin, but I have no idea
which albums the songs are on (the curse of mp3's.. I even
had to delete them all a while back (needed space for
recording)). I've also heard some autechre, but I regret to
say that I didn't find it too pleasing. There were some
songs on chiastic slide and draft (I think) I liked,
though.

about kraftwerk, you should probably ask some of the older
guys..

Prince.. I can say that purple rain is NOT good, at least.

I can put some recommendations here, though.. you may
already have a few of them, but I'll put them anyway:

Xploding Plastix - both albums (Amateur girlfriends go
proskirt agents + Donca Matic Singalongs)
Jaga Jazzist - Both albums (A livingroom hush + the stix)
Charles Mingus - pithecanthropus erectus
Atomic - Feet music
Food - Veggie
Esbjørn Svensson Trio - All the albums, but most of all:
Seven days of falling
Nas - All the albums, but: Illmatic + Stillmatic + God's
son
RJD2 - Deadringer
Prefuse 73 - One word extinguisher
The Roots - Anything.. "Things fall apart" is good.
Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow
A tribe called quest - all releases.

appreciate the suggestions.. but the reason i ask is that i
have easy access to all these recordings - but only for a
limited period of time.
too limited to check them all out. so i wanted to
prioritize.
thanks again though.

enjoy fantomas.
recently i've been to the warp/sinfonietta tour.
matthew herberts big band/bugge wesseltoft show in
brighton.
and rephlex/skam put on a free event here in nottingham for
the bank holiday weekend - which was fun.

thanks for your suggestions.
if you only had to pick one (2max) by each of the artists
with lots of releases, which would they be?

Mu-ziq In Pine Effect
Mu-ziq Lunatic Harness
Mu-ziq Royal Astronomy

(all great albums, also Bilious Paths is good)

Future Sound of London - Papua new Guinea translations (I
have it and I like it)

Tobin, Amon Out From Out Where - Great album! I am yet to
buy it, but I will.

I wish I knew more about e.g. autechre, but that's a
listening experience I am saving myself for.... later.

by the way, i'm sure i saw you & your girlfriend near the
cornerhouse here a couple of weeks ago on a wednesday
afternoon. walking in the direction of the rescuerooms.

Amon Tobin- Supermodified and Autechre- EP7. If I could only
get two albums there, 'twould be those two. I listened to
New Build last night, so I'm partial to that one,
temporarily. Also, I heard Prince's new album was pretty
awesome.

i do indeed..

most of what keepon covers is not the kind of music i
usually listen to. but in a way thats better. its given me
the opportunity to listen to & learn about a lot of styles
that are fairly new to me.
plus it does connect up with my favourite sounds & artists
in some interesting & unexpected ways.
besides.. it means that i still get to listen to the music i
love most purely for pleasure and not as any kind of
extension of a job - which i something i reckon i'd struggle
with at first.
and its great experience.. some nice freebies thrown in
too.
its keeping me out of mischief & making the 9-5 office
temping im doing at the moment far more bearable.

if youre interested i'll try & send you boys a couple of
free copies.

hope you had a good weekend & that the move was relatively
stress-free.

laters.
