I just got the star blazers DVD set. watching it is crazy
nostalgic. one thing i've noticed that i didn't notice when
i was a little kid is how much george lucas borrowed from
the series. for example, the robot in starblazers, IQ9 is
obviously the inspiration for lucas' R2D2. and the Rebel's
insignia in star wars is vaguely reminiscent of the Star
Force's insignia in Star Blazers.

anyone else a big starblazers fan? if so you ought to check
out this DVD set. it even has some extras worth seeing.
deleted scenes and stuff.

jeeze people
i still can't believe there are no starblazers fans out
there. especially with all of you so called Starwars fans.
Or you fools who claim to know anything about anime.

thats right! i'm challenging your supposed fandom! Poseurs!
the lot of you! (is that considered flaming?)

the Starforce, a brave team of space pioneers, sets out
against all odds to travel 163000 light years to the planet
iscandar. here they hope to retrieve the machine called The
Cosmo DNA, the only machine that can save the people of
earth from the deadly radiation inflicted upon them by the
evil Gamilons.
The Gamilons, lead by Leader Desslock will stop at nothing
to stop the Starforce from completing their mission and
destroying the people of earth.
Can the Starforce travel to iscandar and back before the
earth is completely unlivable?
Hurry Starforce! There are only 365 days left!

my new Star Blazers avatar!

behold the mighty Argo
also known as the Space Cruiser Yamato.

We're off to outer space,
We're leaving mother earth
To save the Human race!

Our Star Blazers!

Searching for a distant star
Heading off to Iscandar
Leaving all we love behind
Who know's what dangers we'll find.

We must be strong and brave
Our home, we've got to save!
If we don't in just one year,
Mother Earth will disappear!

Our Star Blazers!

My Star Blazers original soundtrack came in the mail
yesterday. It's excellent. It is sci-fi atmosphere is
beautifully orchestrated, combining classic composing with
70's disco/funk.

A must have for any Star Blazers fan ( though as i seem to
be the only one, this recommendation will no doubt fall upon
deaf ears) as a bonus, the theme song is the original
version sung in japanese.
it looks like this
