because loads of people use it and think it is good. I
dunno, I use Reason with Cubase and a couple of VST's.

Fruitloops is good for IDM. It's also far simpler than many
packages. Re-birth is a good one too.

Ohhh, I thought you meant you have used Cubase. If you are
just starting out then Fruityloops is definately the best.

doesnt matter what program you use. ive heard a lot of
cubase/logic users that arent that great at all. and ive
heard fruity loops users that beat out most idm ive heard
lately. and they dont even have record deals. it all depends
on what you do with your program.

BUT, overall, fruity loops will do the trick for sure. i
still use it overall

anyone can make music on fruityloops.. it has like preset
drums and everything

I've always used CoolEdit.. and not until the end 2002 did I
take advantage of the multitrack function.. which makes
things SO much easier...

I've always created music in a very trial-and-error process,
where I'm looking at a visual representation on the sound
I'm working with and guessing (most times I figure it out
mathematically) where certain pieces/samples should go. this
is usually very tedius unless I sample a drum loop or
something

Reason is also a very good program

Rebirth fans UNITE! YEA!

Anyone here design their own rebirth mods? On my website I
am going to have some of my mods on their posted for
everyone, Yay!

Reason can do mostly everything Rebirth can, but Rebirth's
TB emulation is far better then anything the Subtractor can
make, because they took the machinery schematics and
programmed the 303's exactly to the origional roland model.
Very neato stuff

where'd you get the preset drums idea from?

it doesnt!!!!

sure it comes with samples, but so does reason and alot of
other seq's. dont meen you gotta use them.

i would recomend either fruityloops or reason. there both
pretty much the same, and both real easy to get started
with.

if you're starting out like, from the very beggining, as in
no experience of how sequencers work and stuff, i'd
recommend you start out with eJay

i know it's a shit program compared to the likes of
FruityLoops, butas a way of learning how a sequencer works
(very basically) then this is a good program to start off
with and progress

Yes that's true- it's certainly good to use (if only for a
couple of weeks).

Fruityloops runs on most versions of windows BTW.

that's what i started out on!
lol

eJay Special Edition v1

it gave me a basis to work from, it taught me how a
sequencer works, and it was invaluble in helping me realise
that you CAN make your own music :)
