Why it's good here.

Of all the forums I spend too much time on, xltronic stands
out as a place where everybody is given a fairly equal
hearing, and where they will get responses, critical or
otherwise. Other places are either too exclusive and cliquey
(particularly gaming forums with a majority of 35+ year olds
who go on regular forum meets at strange pubs) or faceless
and sprawling and full of ....

It's probably a rubbish point.

It is a bit rubbish but at least I have given you a fairly
equal hearing.

I have a strong impression, an ever so strong sense, that
there is a true point hidden in that post, hidden and
desperate to squeeze out of the inane, drunken, cringe-shit
writing.

I actually know what you mean and I agree. No other forum
would tolerate some of the fuckwits that are tollerated here
(such as swift_jams). There is a relatively unique diversity
of characters you just don't find elsewhere which is why
they are relatively unique.

That is nothing to do with it, I wish I never used that
word, --it's about reading and response, about topics from
new children, fresh and innocent to the charms of the
internet, to xltronic, having their topics float across
glowing oceans of interest and excitement, while in other
forums they'd sink and crash into palm trees because of
their fresh, unshaven faces. Here, there is no protelariat!

Half the cds I own are of albums recommended from you all so
I have to agree, this place is pretty damn kick ass.

it's good here for me not for social reasons but learning
about new artists and keeping up to date with the old. that
alone has expanded my music library and appreciation for
music in general. i guess i come here too for a laugh now
and again. some of my best friends are from here (you know
who you are)

the xlt zeitgiest is quite evolved and the proof in that
statement lies in putting xlt next to any other forum,
you'de see the difference in a matter of minutes.

do you ever wonder what your status on xlt is? i do. i feel
like even though im close to 10000 and have been here for
nearly 5 years i still have no voice. by that i mean im not
established as a character/entity that others enjoy reading.
dog belch and wmw and others are gods on xlt. no matter how
much you like or dislike them, they have a voice thats not
only heard, but searched for when bored.

You're very established to me, baby. You're whole
establishment sits in between child-boy nakedness.

Could you buy me a premium account so I can post gorgeous
pictures of rotten rats while indulging lots of red wine and
port, please? I would like to contribute to this fine site's
money, but can't for very special reasons.

Sorry, that was very cheeky, I didn't mean it, honestly. I
am going to pay. It'll be done, see that it is done! Done. I
will pay tomorrow.

I don't think there is any place in the entire internets
quite like xltronic. It's a universe in itself. I'm often
amazed by how honest I am @ xltronic. I say things here that
I would never dream of saying anywhere else. Where would you
first go for advice if you really, really screwd up and put
yourself in an embarrassing situation? And actually get
some. I'm often surprised by how caring people can be around
here if someone was hurt or died or whatever. If xltronic
continues its crazy journey for another 7 years (the site
launched in 2001, right?) I honestly think that I will still
be around and that a lot of you will be too. Why wouldn't
you?!?

Groucho Marx, I am led to believe, said that he'd never
belong to a club that would have him as a member. Having
been banned on numerous occassions I am happy to belong to a
club that wouldn't have me as a member.
