i'm very impressed by those remerge releases containing
this cool mashups of different odlschool rave/hc tracks.

how about making something like this as an xltvibe ? the
theme would be "oldchool rave/hc/acid" and the whole thing
goes like this: the tempo is given (let's say 140-150 bpm -
should be a voting for it), every of the participants makes
at least one, two or three short tracks, different styles
maximum 2 minutes long. best would be to make sure every of
this pieces has it's own "hook" - let's say a drumloop, a
acid riff or maybe a piano sample? you can also make just a
breakdown for one of your tracks.

at the end i would have a few dozen short tracks which would
be mixed together "remerge-style" into a big mashup.

I think it's a great idea, but im still in the process of
getting midi shit working with Vista, so unfortunately I
can't contribute as of now. But I hope other people here
pick the ball up and run with it.

170 is far too high. 140-145 is perfect. im definately up
for this but i dont understand this "make sure every of
this pieces has it's own "hook" - let's say a drumloop, a
acid riff or maybe a piano sample" do you mean every persons
track should have one element that is the same?

do you mean make your own tracks from scratch or mix some
old hardcore tracks together for each 2 minute section?

I was thinking mashing some old tracks together?
