I have not heard mum. Does it have beats and acid? Is it lush?

on the other hand, the 7" vinil promo of the new album, was kind of disappointing, i would have chosen other tracks for the vinil...
the artwork is amazing, tho!
here a video on the style (for the track on the vinil, i think)

the new mum is absolutely awful. and i say that with a heavy heart, as a huge mum fan. the only truly good song on it (which i love to death) is dancing behind my eyelids. the first song on the album is okay. the rest are :(
avoid.

I got to agree with optimus prime. I am very dissapointed in the new Múm album. They seem to have gone back on themselves with all the knowledge and music know-how they had and sort of gone half way between old and new Múm. It is NOT a good sound.

Downloaded that session and was the first Mum I've listened to. It was pretty damn good!

It's an awesome album! I'd already given up hope for Múm knowing the twin is gone now and not liking Summer Make Good all that much.
It needed a few plays though, but now I'm totally adicted to this rawish and playfull sound they manage to produce.

finally got it and its a gorgeous album! there are maybe some tracks that sound too much to sigur ros or something, too poppy and slow and comeon! and not that original instrumentation for my taste, but there are also some amazingly bizarre and original tunes... and a couple of masterpieces as usual.
and wtf! its so beautiful and emotional that all little fault is forgiven.
now that the twins are gone they sould pick bogdan raczynski as singer/shouter... thatd be nice

in some places this album sounds a bit like smashing pumpkins to me (mellon collie and blabla), dunno why, i guess for the guy's voice and the violins (track 5 or 6)...

It's amongst my favorites of this year already. Together with the new Freescha, Porn Sword Tobacco and Kettel they already form a rememberable unity of the year 2007.

mmm new freescha, i didnt know... i must check!
i think summer makes good was a better album, for the originality of its sound, the perfect cohesion between the electronic part + the pop part of múm,
this one is just more of the same, in a more happy way and slightly more pop oriented, imo... drums are still wonderfully powerfull, tho, specially the more dnb style... and blablabla anybodycares?

Still 2 months to go.. don't halloo before you're out of the wood.
melack: Are you kidding...? "more of the same" you are saying. It's the most outstanding album Múm ever made imo. I can't really compare it with their previous stuff.

mmm dunno the track composition sounds pretty similar to summer makes good and his latest stuff, i think... i mean, compared to the evolution from finally we are noone to summermakesgood, which was incredible, with gogosmear are just following with the same way of making music, same style, same sound, imo...
