Upcoming Wii Games.

Looks like the next 6 months is set to unleash a bounteous
basket of opulence upon owners of Nintendo Wiis.

· Mario Kart Wii: 16-player on_line Battle Mode,
mid-air stunts, a whole bunch of new tracks!

· Tony Hawk's Proving Ground: Extensive editing
tools, totally new tricks, huge free-roaming levels,
possible 'Balance Board' controls!

· Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution: Rebuilt for
the Wii (not a lazy port), utilises the Wii remote, should
set the bar for future strategy games on the Wii!

· The Simpsons: In-joke frivolity with accurate
graphics!

· Fishing Master: Wii controller perfect for
emulating the relaxing pseudo-sport of angling!

· SoulCalibur Legends: Developed specifically for
the Wii, so controllers are perfectly utilised (the
Swing'n'Slash), unconfined by small arenas!

· Ghost Squad: One of the first on-rail 'Light Gun'
games for the Wii, not totally restricted by the rails, lots
of additional modes, weaponry etc!

· LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga: The original
two games, plus extra bonus features and levels, use your
Wii remote as a lightsabre!

· Metroid Prime 3: Corruption: A seriously stylish
end to the trilogy!

· Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles: Relentless
action and atmosphere, follows the story of the Umbrella
Corp. from initial outbreak to its downfall.

·Endless Ocean: Stunning looking free-roamer with
lush graphics, who cares about the 'plotline'!

· Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Super Smash Bros. for the
Wii with lots of extras and special features!

· Super Mario Galaxy: The first proper Mario game
since Mario Sunshine, but more like Super Mario 64 in feel,
except with extra Wii and amazing-looking gameplay!

Galaxy looks brilliant, I just hope I don't get burnt like
with Mario Sunshine. I nearly removed my Bowser fridge
magnet after that.

I'm praying for RE: Umbrella Chronicles too. Haven't seen
much about it which is a tad worrying. Hope its not just
another Survivor. I thought that was shit.

Super Mario Galaxy, I read a preview of it, and apparently
it looks totally amazing. I have Super Mario Sunshine and I
didn't get far through it before losing all enthusiasm with
it; I do plan on returning to it to give it another chance
since it is a Mario game and I love Super Mario 64 so
much. The preview I read said Galaxy could give us that
feeling of Mario Magic again, unfelt since the 64
days!

The magazine also said that the new Resident Evil looks like
it will definitely deliver, which is good, since I've found
the games patchy. Apparently the new one will be
super-intense, gory and heart-poundingly great. :)

do you know what the word trilogy means, young man?

zelda isn't one by the way.

i'd say there are little trilogies in zelda. the first 2 on
nes plus the 1 on snes would be a trilogy. then ocarina of
time, majora's mask and twilight princess would be another.
kinda.

it looks like the Wii is getting interesting indeed... mine
was collecting dust since Zelda Twilight Princess, though i
had tried Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz which was also
good.

Nitrobikes should be excellent too. It's essentially a
sequel to Excitebike 64, by the people who did excite truck.
Plus, using the wiimote like bike handlebars = inspired.

I am really looking forwards to this, Soul Calibur and
Endless Ocean. Mario Kart ought to be great fun in
multiplayer too.
