My cat has cancer.

Hassan is his name.
Two very large tumors inside the stomach.
He is to be put to sleep next week.
He is old (14 years) and he has lived an awesome life filled
with love , hunting rats , birds , mice (and a small rabbit
once lol!) and he always got special treats in the kitchen
on weekends like shrimp , chicken liver etc.... A big garden
and neighbourhood to roam around and do his cat stuff in.
It is his time but still i can't help feeling sad. He is the
coolest cat that ever walked the earth . We teached him to
sit like a dog when he was about to get a treat and he never
jumped up on tables or anything , very wellbehaved and
smart.

Sorry for ranting about a cat but i am very sad....

I think we will burry him in my parents garden .
This weekend we will say goodbye to him and spoil him with
all the goodstuff that he likes like shrimps and stuff.

Next week he is gone forever =( =( =( =( =( =(

Amazing how you can get so emotionaly atached to an animal.

This sucks!! Im gona get drunk now.

jailbirds that i have met like 3 times as a kid.

This little furry guy means so much more to me :,(

Damn , the day i loose a person i love , like a good friend
or a parent or brother ... that is gona be fucking tuff!!
How the hell do you deal with something like that ???

"Amazing how you can get so emotionally attached to an
animal."

I was very attached to my cat "Special". It was my fault he
died too. No one in the house paid attention to him, and we
hung out all the time. When I started seeing my current GF I
barely made time for him. He basically withered away in a 6
week span. I really hate myself for it as odd as that might
sound.

i know exactly how you feel, i had a little buddy die on new
year's day 2006, she was 19 and a very sweet character.

sure they're animals, but so are we, and sure they're simple
but they've got a personality and they're full of life.

hassan was lucky to have a friend like you.

People reading this thread that has never owned a pet animal
maybe think we are being silly , but i tell you , that
little guy becomes a family member.
Every animal has its own personality and its own voice. You
love them like a family member . They are someone that is
always around to give and recieve love and all of the sudden
they are gone.
They leave a great emptyness....

I feel like shit seeing my cat walking around slowly not
being able to eat much. He used to talk alot (in that cat
way) but now hes all quiet .
SHit! we should have gone to the vet sooner. =(
His stomach is all swallowed up
We didn't wanted to see what was happening , but it's time
to face the facts.

He is gona have agreat last weekend though , im of to the
fish market tomorow. Where talking LOBSTER BABY!

Poor kitty. Are you going to get another one? My mom's cat
died this year, it really devastated her and she swore she'd
never get another cat, but she got one two months later. And
then another. It sucks to lose them but there's nothing
better than the 15 or so years with them, and plenty of them
need the chance at those 15 years.

I've never lost a pet so I don't QUITE know how it feels,
but I will in a few years and I know it'll rip my heart
out.

in a cold hositle enviroment by a stranger. He fucking hates
going to the vet so i know his last mindstate will be in
panic =( =(

sorry to hear about your cat. such a sad thing that our
loved ones (companion animals) only live such a short time
compared to us.

but your cat had a wonderful life free from the stress of
money(can we even being to understand this) all the stresses
we feel each day at work or even stupid things like ringing
up a call centre in Asia. all those mind boiling situations
and the fear they may come about again.

so in this respect he lived a very stress free life with
your friendship, cuddles, meals , music , all the things you
shared.

true its another world to be a cat...there is the territory
thing...but your cat could run home to you and a warm house
when ever he pleased ..and he has that feeling throughout
his soul..there is no reason to be sad when we know
this..because that's the most important thing , for you both
to know you love each other.

dont stress out. keep a hopeful outlook for your cat, he
needs you to be this way.

best wishes

freqyx

I'm really sorry to hear your sad story.
I know what loss feels like.
I love animals too.. i'm such a soppy person, it's kinda
what i'm known for so i've had many pets over the years and
unfortunately there comes a time when they all leave us..
just like humans do.

My cat has been pretty lucky actually.. he's about 17 now
and still going strong. He's stubborn so i think he'll
probably live to about 25, but i know losing a pet can be
hard, because they're not just a pet, they're a friend, and
part of the family.

And it never gets easier really, there's still going to be a
part of your life that feels empty because they're gone..
but in time you'll learn to accept he's gone, and you'll
think about all of the good times you had together and what
an amazing character he was.. and you'll be happy and feel
lucky that you were able to share that time with him and
make it the best life a cat could hope for.

I mean think about it.. animal shelters are full of animals
that have not had a life anywhere near as lucky as your
cat.

So don't feel sad for him.. although i know you will so
thats a silly thing to say.. you'll miss him, and there will
be a space in your life that not even another cat will
fill.. because no other cat will be that cat.

But just remember him for the fantastic character he was..
Help him to have the best few days a cat could dream for..
Show him all of the love in the world, and he'll be with you
forever.
