 | One of my female collegues, 37 years old, very nice person, has just told us today that she had cancer and is gonna be
missing work for at least 2 months. =!

 | This thread makes me terribly sad, but in a way it's nice to see the community rally together in support and love. I know
it sounds fucked up, but I think it's easier to become
attached to a close pet than to other humans (besides
 immediate family).

I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty, Sido. My cat is still
young, only a few years old, but my roommates tell me that
she won't leave my room except to eat/restroom and cries
during the night when I go away for a few days. I think I'm
the only human she trusts. She's eccentric and skittish, but
has such a good heart. I have a feeling she'd be the type to
wither away and die if I ever had to leave her for too long.
 :'(

I know that you want to send him off well, but I would
consult the Vet before feeding Hassan anything exotic that
would perhaps upset his stomach during his final days. I
wish you and your cat the best, and I'm really, really sorry
to hear about this. Losing a pet/friend is one of those
things that just never gets any easier. :(

 | My eyes were welling up as I read the thread, too. I'm really a sap when it comes to cuddly animals.
