while i'm here, how about a music related thread? this guy
markus guentner put out an album on kompakt in 2001 called
"in moll."

if you see any reason to trust my personal opinion, on
behalf of all that is just and good for the love of god
check this album.

it is ambient (with an occasional warm bass pulse) and
minimal but at the same time very lush, with no cheesy
samples and actually no cheese at all. very inventive and
involving, like watching a meteor shower while receiving a
sensual massage. leans towards the wolfgang voigt/gas side
of ambient, but not made from samples and less insistent
kick drum. it's the bees knees. incidentally, there's a
gas remix of markus' track "regensburg" that's gaseous
beyond belief. sure it came out 6 years ago, but it's
easily 1000 times better than fucking venetian snares
exhuming black sabbath.

as it happens, today i have nothing better to do than to
recommend this album to you. get it while you can, because
i assure you this nadir cannot last.

while i'm at it, i might as well recommend the track "ted"
by clark. sure i could recommend the whole album or ep, but
what the fuck are you here to pick nits or read about
fucking electronic music? but i digress.

i love you all (especially the one who hooked me up with th'
oink invite, you know who you are, g). thanks for reading!

bye!

Haha, at first I read his albums as being called "I'm Noll,"
alluding to the ever-cheerful Ian Noll, king of Xltronic and
adjacent lands.

On the music, I find that it is only very rarely that people
manage to describe music as I would, so a link to some
samples would be helpful.

I will check that out. On last fm Thomas Fehlmann is in his
"similar artists" category which is a good sign.

Merci!

I like the third track, innenfeld.. it sounds a bit like it
could be music for Silent Hill, but with a cheerful tone.
Other than that, from those samples, at least, it wasn't my
cup of tea.

yes, it's sweet and friendly mostly, just like me!

yet, "in moll" means in minor key! what a card!

it doesn't sound like thomas fehlmann much.

sorry i couldn't provide samples, i'm experiencing downtime
at work at etc etc

track three is my favorite, like lying on your back on an
ice floe slipping through a cave with phosphorescent flies
burning incense behind a diaphanous screen of loosely woven
silk.

you're right, all of these descriptions are fabrications and
are inaccurate/accurate.
