At last something that makes my purchase of the PS3 truely
worthwhile, but the 6 minute leaked HD trailer seems to have
disappeared...

It's so packed with new and old characters, plot-points and
drama. It's going to be such an awesome display of Kojima's
carte blanche to exercise his reckless creativity.

Snake piloting a Metal Gear Rex to take on Liquid in a Metal
Gear Ray holy cow

Right now Warhawk is the reason for the PS3's being, in fact
I'm playing it now

And Snake's toned ass, clenched and encased in that sweaty
leather stealth-suit, support strap riding up his
accentuated crack. Be seeing plenty of that with the
third-person camera.

it attempts to be.

i liked 2 more than 3. imo 3 was kinda dull.

I'd like 2 more if it wasn't so short. It had no more
gameplay or ground to cover than MGS1, probably even less,
despite having double the time devoted to cutscenes and
codecs. Awful balance, but I think lessons were learned and
MGS4 is going to be sprawling and substantial.

I'm excited about the prospect of in-game true surround
sound stealth action.

New trailer.

I'm not going to watch it.. I feel I've already seen too
much of the game, and I want to save some for later. I also
hope that with them showing as much as they have, there will
be TONS of stuff that hasn't been shown yet.

Oh, wait. Should've chekd the first link, haha.

It didn't make sense because the thread was before it was
released, as far as I know. Sorry, delete that.

There's definitely way too much media, but I can't resist.
And I can't believe how many things have been revealed about
this game, it's just crazy. I can't imagine there's room for
more surprises. How they're going to cram all of this into
one game is beyond me, but it will be fun to watch them try.

I really hope it doesn't fall apart. I'm very interested
(despite the fact I really didn't like 3) but it still
doesn't seem worth shelling out for a PS3 for.

They have blu-ray, so the game could theoretically be one of
the largest games ever.

That said, I'm 102 hours into FFXII, and I still haven't
finished all the hunts.. got me Tournesol, though..
annoyingly difficult/random.

Didn't they do some thing where they showed that the ps3
doesn't really cost more than the ps and the ps2 did when
they were released?

New trailer looks fantastic but does give quite a lot away
(at least compared to the previous trailers)

Its clear the time they've spent making this game look
amazing and i'm sure it'll be the highlight of the PS3 for
many years to come (not that this is difficult considering
the lacklustre library of games so far)

I couldn't finish all the hunts. There was some dinosaur
that brought me down to 1hp every time he hit me, no matter
what. He broke me.

What do you think about that game? I too put in a lot of
time, almost 80 hours, and I was hooked. But now I don't
have many great memories of the story/world/characters, and
no tunes ever pop up in my head. Very unlike, say, FF8, I
think of that game and it instantly conjures so many great
scenes/images and memorable songs.

I was hooked on FF12's gameplay, and hated FF8's, but all I
ever remember is the adventure.

Yeah, I think I know which one you mean.. the one outside of
the pharos, right? I'm at a point where ALL the hunts are
impossible until I level up a bit more, so I guess I just
have to run around for a while.. maybe I can find something
better to do.. can't really go for ultima or that other
esper yet either... and that hell wyrm thing is... 50 life
bars!?!?!!

The game itself.. well, the story is kind of thin (I haven't
finished it yet, though.. I have Bahamut left), but just
enough to keep me going; I want to see the end. Vaan is
utterly useless and pointless, and he has no place in the
story except for being comic relief. Balthier is, as he
says, the leading man, and could easily have been the main
character from the start.

They get a big plus for trying to add politics to the game
though.. in the past, all the princesses and kings and
whatnot haven't really bothered with the political power
they have. In this game, there's a major power struggle, a
public with an opinion about what's going on, etc, etc.

I don't like how all characters can learn all the things.
That's where you end up, collecting all those licence points
anyway. I also don't think the espers are a good idea..
they're just useless later on in the game, and considering
that you don't get most of them until later in the game, it
doesn't make sense.. it's like you can only use them to kill
regular enemies.. they should be awesomely strong things
with one shot massive damage like in VII.. and I also want
the old familiar summon line back. This one sucks.

All in all, I'd say someone thought XII should be a
single-player XI because there's so much focus on the
sidequests.. it's kind of a multiplayer game, but without
the multiplayer.

MGS3 was wonderful. The most imaginative game I had played
in ages. That end sequence! And I think MGS2 was a lot
better than people give it credit for; I didn't care that it
was impossible to understand. There's enough games with nice
normal boring plots, it was refreshing to play something
where it all goes a bit insane.
