hours of different angles of american soldiers killing
somalians arrggghhhh.

"but i was still glued to the
movie....and the characters" yeah my sister told me that too
;) she thought a lot of those guys in that movie was
staright up hotties ;) She like that militant stuff nah
mean.

I was tired, angry and sick when I saw that movie plus I had
very high expectations so....It was just too much violence,
shooting all the time, yeah I know, it was a war movie....
peep Deerhunter insted.

yeah there were hotties, but some of those actors made those
people come alive......and i was wasted after seeing
it.....just from the tense situations.

yea.....going to the movies when you don't feel well makes
the movie you see.....seem....well it can make it a bad
experiece.....that happened to me with JFK.....people love
that movie.....i hate it cos i had the stomach flu during
it....ehehhehe

Apocalypse Now - untouchable.

Ridley Scott should be shot for making Black Hawk Down. Its
racist shite.

Will do. I'm not much of a cook. I'm competent but I'm too
lazy to make the effort.

There is something really satisfying about actually making a
meal. It tastes so much better. Unless my dad cooks it.

HAMBURGER HILL takes the cake for me.. it's not as well
known because Platoon came out around the same time it did
and didn't receive the attention it deserved

Deer Hunter (esp. the big russian roulette scene) and The
Last Batallion are both very nice also

OHH man i love chris walken....and that russian roulette
scene.....heartbreaking.

another favourite scene....when deniro went deer
hunting.....and he let the deer go, there was something
about that scene that just struck me.....powerful stuff.

i need to get that DVD =0)

!! the whole POW and roulette scene was some of the most
tense and gripping stuff I've seen in any movie.. i should
probably go out and get Deer Hunter, but, I just got Donnie
Darko on DVD and that'll hold me off plenty :DD

Interesting fact about apocalypse now.
the reason that they kept brando in the shadows so much in
the original version is because of his weight. when he
showed up for filming he was seriously overweight. Coppela
was mad because brando was supposed to be playing a guy who
was in very good shape and even a bit emaciated. but it was
too late to do anything, filming had to start so they chose
just to keep him in the shadows rather than to let him lose
the weight.
Read Heart of Darkness. it is the short story that
Apocalypse is based on but the cool thing is, the story is
about the Ivory trade in Africa; it has nothing to do with
vietnam. I can't remember the author off the top of my head
though...
LeCouer,
i agree the sound track is excellent. I found it on double
vinyl at a secondhand book store. one of the discs is
entirely movie dialogue; excellent for scratching and
sampling. voices on the disc: harrison ford, brando,
hopper, robert duvall, martin sheen, and lawrance fishburn
among others.. great soundtrack

Black Hawk Down is fucking pathetic.
Probably the worst, most unrealistic war movie ever made.

Hey Look! 500 Negroes with assault rifles can't hit one
white boy running across the open street!

On that note, I loved the Thin Red Line and Three Kings.

Thin Red Line = Thin Red Script

I hate that movie , its a air castle.

Three Kings where pretty good tho
I like the scene where the irakian holds the american
prisoner and makes him drink the oil , such a great dialoge
and actor .

South park did a great parody on that scene but this time it
is santa claus in the torture chair and Jesus and the kids
come to save him. Jesus and Santa Claus is mean killers in
slowmotion gunfights haha!

Thin red line is great, one of my favourites. I'll have to
check out some of these mentioned here.

I've only seen Das Boot DUBBED, which completely ruined the
experience for me.

I swear, dubbing was sent from the devil himself!

I can't stand Saving Private Ryan, its one of the most
overly sentimental and flag shagging films i've seen and the
portrayal of the germans from someone who made schindlers
list is moronic.

I can't believe its listed so many times here...
