[wii] Metroid Prime 3

Is this going to be worth buying a wii for?

I heard Nintendo Power gave it a 10/10

IGN's review makes it sound like the best of the trilogy.

Help me Ophecksbi One Kenobi, you're my only hope.

yes buy it. ive read a couple of reviews that each said it
is hands down the smoothest FPS controls they have seen. mix
that with metroid and you've got one sexy game.

which good games for two players or more are released yet ?
And don't tell me mario party 8 caus Mario is gay !
I'm basically waiting for table tennis on the wii to buy it
but if theres something out now I might buy it sooner..
btw table tennis on xbox 360 is one of the best game ever !

wii is basically a party system so you won't have problems
finding games to play with your girlfriend. wario ware is
great.

Metroid for gamecube was dumb.

Eh, I'm not overly hyped, they seem to have designed the
game specifically to generate an overlong, highly critical,
convoluted post by mii. I did not want any voice acting, I
didn't want any allies, I didn't want to fly to multiple
planets... but they added all of these things. I like the
feeling of solitude in Metroid games, exploring and
penetrating deep into one mysterious self-contained remote
alien world, by myself, not having my hand held, not going
through a series of scripted events. This is why I disliked
Metroid Fusion, that game successfully undermined everything
that made Metroid... Metroid. The gameplay I've seen of MP3
looked like frickin' Halo.

But of course you have to buy it. It's Metroid. I don't
doubt it will be a great game. Good games are the most fun
to think and bitch about.

But Mario Galaxy is the Wii's riial riison for biiing. I
approve of that game's direction. Why didn't they do this
brilliant stuff before, why did Super Mario Tropical
Underwhelmathon even exist?

The Wii is worth buying for wii sports alone.

That said, i am most likely getting this game as soon as it
hits the shops.

Decent platformer, great control, nauseating presentation.
Lessons were learned and now Mario Galaxy exists.

I know what you mean, about the isolation Oph.

Primes 1 & 2 were pretty desolate feeling, though so maybe
these developer guys agree too.

I hope I can get it this evening. The reviews are
predictably great but that doesn't mean I don't intend to
whine about it.

Retro are great devs and now that they may not be chained to
the Metroid franchise, I want a new IP.

When I got there the lady at the store told me not to say
anything to anyone because after she put that game on hold
she noticed that they weren't supposed to go on sale until
tomorrow, but that since I'd already driven down there she
was going to sell it to me. So don't say anything you
guys.

The 3d Metriod games give me hand cramps. Especially boss
fights. Holding down strafe and circling around and around
while constantly pressing the fire button makes me dangle my
hands at the wrist like Mr. Burns.

fusion, zero mission, super metroid, and super metroid
redesign. I'm totally obsessed with anything metroid. This
will be one of the greatest games ever.

Metroid NES, Super Metroid (SNES) and Metroid Zero Mission
(GBA) are much better than the 3d versions. Check them out
if you haven't already!

I'm about 5 hours into Corruption. AMAZING! The start
doesn't feel like Metroid but once you get to the first
planet the game gets really good. Amazing art, wow. I
couldn't put it down last night. Kick ass boss fights and
the music is pure metroid goodness.

I'm gonna get this. don't ask how eheheheh

seriously, though. I hear good things about this. the main
thing I didn't like about 1 and 2 was the controls. this
will hopefully fix dat.

i'm still a little clumsy with the controls, but i can tell
i'm going to really like them when i get used to remembering
to keep the remote pointed correctly during the heat of
battle.

HA! Nintendo Power is owned by Nintendo :D

I had a subscription for yearssssss and all they barely ever
diss their own games.

I've gotta ask those who've played it already, is there
remixes from super metroid in it? The magmoor caverns of
prime 1 and lower torvus bog of prime 2 didn't do it for me,
I want more, like the green brinstar or maridia themes.

i highly enjoyed it - much more than part 2, and it's easily
one of (if not THE) best game on Wii, both in graphics and
in gameplay. the controls are well-tuned and lack the
twitchiness of red steel (though dizzy spells can happen if
your remote wanders off screen). the lock-on function also
works surprisingly well, allowing for free aim while still
being able to strafe-dash and such without fumbling with the
remote to turn around. the grappling beam is also very easy
to use, which is good, since you use it often.

my only complaints are that i wish the game implemented some
sort of 180 spin for when i need to turn around so i don't
have to lean my control to the right for a bit, and also the
game starts off slow compared to all other Metroid games.
But once you're past the first ten minutes, the game doesn't
let up.

I believe there is at least one remix from Super, and at
least one from Prime 1. Not sure which ones though, I'm only
about 6 hours into the game.

i am currently fucking fed up with metroid prime 1. This
game is too fucking difficult. I get stuck every 5 minutes,
because i left behind an item somewhere like 3 different
worlds back.

It took me a half hour to get to this door all the way on
some high ledge only to find that i cant fucking open it.
FUCK.

You definitely NEVER want to play Prime 2 then. I thought
it was like twice as hard as 1, and filled with double the
amount of backtracking.

from a non 3d metroid fan i foudn this game FANTASTIC. I am
heavly immersed in it right now, not since Super MEtroid for
SNES have i been this drawn to a metroid game. My only
complaint is the enemies arent very metroid like or
creative, their attack methods are very simplistic and
straight forward. I was hoping for more conceptual enemies
and frankly more of them.

I'm going to play through again on a harder setting. I think

sci fi fashion and throwing grapple.
