 | Yeah, I saw that.
It makes sense: I don't know any fat people.

I also like how someone finally dared tell all the fatties
it isn't their fucking genes making them fat. Now all that
remains is to get them not to blame their friends for making
them fat. Fat people are irresponsible.

 | Not anyone. Sometimes you need a car. Moving house, for instance, but not for going to the store or going to work in
the morning unless it's too far away (will depend on the
situation, but rule of thumb: If a bike gets you there in
less than an hour, it's irresponsible to drive).

 | fatness isn't a measure of health but inactivity is, and you cannot tell if someone is inactive just by looking at them.
there are statistics showing that (look at this:
 http://www.obesitymyths.com/myth2.1.htm) but they are not
ever talked about in the media, all we ever hear about is
how obesity kills 400,000 people every year in america
(total bullshit, thanks cdc) i think the point is that
nobody else other than fat people have to deal with people
assessing their health and their "level of responsibility"
(omg fat people are so out of control, they're pretty much
immoral!) just from seeing them walk down the street,
minding their own business! someone's health is between them
and their doctor, not them and some 20 year old jerk off
kids with, i'm sure, perfect bodies all around

 | Yeah, leave fatties alone. It's up to them what they do to their bodies and I'm sure they're intelligent enough to know
that if they don't get off their fat arses and do some
exercise they will probably die between 55-70.

Fatties are no different to smokers, alcoholics or drug
users, they have made a choice. Do you really need reports
and scientific data to tell you that inhaling smoke all the
time is going to make you feel and look like shit and kill
you? Perhaps these people don't want to live that long
 anyway.

 | Yeah, exactly. You can tell very much by looking at an obese person that they are unhealthy, because being obese is being
unhealthy. You cannot be obese, and be healthy. You can be
more healthy than someone who is skinny and smokes 50 a day
and eats no veg, for example, but you cannot be healthy
whilst being obsese, as it puts strain on the heart and can
cause heart disease etc. You can be active and still obese,
but obviously not active enough, otherwise you wouldn't be
 obese.
It's also not just between them and their doctor. By
claiming that, you're forgetting about the amount of money
that the NHS pays out for operations on people who suffer
from heart failure, type 2 diabetes and things like hip and
knee replacements, which are all illnesses which are
 caused/severely worsened by obesity.

I think the burning part varies in humans. I very much
believe genetics, body type, and metabolism are influential.
So, I don't always think its a failure of someones
 character.

 | "i think the point is that nobody else other than fat people have to deal with people assessing their health and
their "level of responsibility" (omg fat people are so out
of control, they're pretty much immoral!) just from seeing
 them walk down the street"

Pah! Skinny people are just as often tagged as anorexic or
whatever. "She doesn't eat!" but usually no-one jumps to
their defence. Mostly because people don't think obesity is
a disease, and that fat people for some reason are more
insecure about themselves than skinny people so that you
have to thread lightly about them so that they won't kill
 themselves.

The difference between skinny and fat people is that while
it can be harder to tell if a person is just skinny or if
he's anorexic (because we all wear clothes), it's pretty
easy to see when someone's obese. And, sure, some people may
be more prone to become fat because of genes and
environment, but when you see a really really fat guy going
"it's my genes," you know he knows his genes are making him
obese, and when he knows, there's no fucking way he can
responsibly continue on as he does; he should seek help and
he should fucking get a grip on himself. It's irresponsible
to say "oh, it's my genes." Too skinny people get diets when
they go to a doctor. So do fatties, but fatties have more
trouble keeping them (now I'm talking about those cases
where one could assume it really was genes or whatever in
both cases); genes don't determine shit like this, we do.

Fat people, no matter how you look at it, are irresponsible.
Sure, so are anorexic people, but this is about fatties.

 | Bah. All this "yeah, people know best what's best for themselves, let them choose for themselves bla bla" bullshit
is annoying. It shows just how little concern people have
for their fellow men: If you cared, you'd try to get them to
quit smoking (I regularly trash a friend's cigarettes), try
to get them to quit eating, etc, not just leave them to
 their misery.

 | It's a failure of character no matter what the "cause" is: You see yourself turning fat, you just don't eat as much.

 | what did i say that made you think that you CANT say that it's irresponsible? it's completely fucking obvious its
irresponsible because people by their nature are
irresponsible and no one is exempt of this at all regardless
of what they are irresponsible for. ie it becomes a fucking
bore after awhile, hearing people like you make these
statements that are so utterly obvious that all it does is
piss people off who fall into the spectrum and makes them
alienated and worse instead of making them better.

and please note that i did not say you or anyone else like
you are wrong, but that you're being socially stupid about
it. and as you say, you dont know fat people, therefore you
are the last person i would trust on this subject. no
offense is meant here. it's like me trusting someone who
spent 8 years reading books on precision brain surgery to
take a tumor out of my head, yet never once used a scalpel
 on a human.

people need help, yes. you're totally right there. but
you're the last person they need to be taking pointers
 from.

okay now i'll leave for awhile. please enjoy yourselves
 friends.

 | If people are anything by nature, it is responsible: We are all responsible for each and every action we perform (yes,
even the good ones), but not all of us choose to take this
responsibility. That's when you become irresponsible.

When I said I don't know any fat people, that means I don't
have any friends who are fat. I know of some fat people, but
they annoy me. That doesn't mean there can't be fatties who
are nice or whatever, they're mostly like everyone else, but
they're also irresponsible when it comes to their bodies.

The only pointers I'm giving are: "Get help," and maybe also
 "eat less."
