Yeah definitely, though I only work part-time, 2-closing 3-4
days a week so I can't make any guarantees that I'll be
around. I am a skinny white kid with glasses and messy
hair, and my name is charles, so that will be on my name tag
:O

His set-up was pretty intense, but I could just barely
follow the rhythm he was going for.

sometimes i was really on, drumming, but about 60 percent of
the time until about 6 months ago I was sleep deprived, high
on, or drumming to get high on, crack. nowadays i play
only to excel, excite... not to make skrilla to get high.
this has resulted in a terrific upgrade of my average
performance.

sorry if my beats weren't on point for you.

Feel like I need to say something here...
Illfates is my brother and though he fucked up hard by doing
drugs you guys don't need to be talking shit like this about
him.
90% of the replies in this thread are ignorant and
intrusive, none of you (I'm assuming) know what kind of
circumstances led him to make the choices he has made.
and all the trashy shit you had to say about his girl...
well it just makes me sad.

Earthleakage I agree with you; if I could have done more
about the situation then I would have, but he doesn't let
anyone tell him what to do, even if it's for his own good.
He wouldn't have listened to his litter sister anyway,
I'm just trying to back him up on here.

"90% of the replies in this thread are ignorant and
intrusive"

90% of the people who come here are arsewits so I really
wouldn't worry what they say. People have opinions based on
their own limited knowledge; internet people have opinions
based on their own arseholes.

All I know about him is that he likes fractals, plays pots
on the street, makes good cds and is incredibly
unreliable about sending them out to people
(ie me!) :p

I JUST LOOKED FOR THIS BUT YOU BEAT ME TO IT

Heroin is a horrible drug, I have lost a couple of freinds
because of it. The worst part is that you are compleatly
powerless to help in any way. The only way I have seen
someone get off addictive drugs is by moving away, changing
lifestyle and never going back. (One of my friends has been
clean for about 15years or more now. But this is a rare
story indeed)

offline illfates from space (United States) on 2008-04-17 11:46 [#02195455]

Yes, heroin is a horrible drug-- but really, when it comes
to drugs like this, cocaine, even meth and benzodiazipines..
oh and weed too....

but

The neurotransmitter deficiencies you can engender with
these drugs, including the habitual nature of dopamine
impulse/reward cycle that accompanies their use is the real
bugger.

I'm clean now. I walked off 20 mg of methadone last
wednesday. I stopped shooting heroin and coke 1.5 years ago
when I started methadone. I stopped smoking crack 8 months
ago.

I began reading for the first time in 5 years. I read Carl
Sagan's "The Demon-Haunted World". I realized I had only
one life, and I was wasting it by getting high. When I
began tapering off methadone, I was at 70 mg.

The difference between now, and when I started methadone, is
that I no longer desire to get high on any of these drugs.
I've tried them all, been addicted both physically and
habitually to many, and decided that I am comfortable with
plants directly grown from the earth naturally, but not the
refined alkaloidal drugs that make us slaves to other men.
Never in my life, since I was 10 years old, could I say I
wasn't interested in drugs.

I read to ressurect my soul. I read a lot. Some of the
best books that got me excited were those of Dawkins
(selfish gene, the god delusion), Hofstadter (strange loop,
godel escher bach: eternal golden braid), and even
Mandelbrot's (fractal geometry of nature).

Knowledge-- to learn and know and incorporate it is next to
eating, as subsistential to the soul as protein to the
body.

I began volunteering at the Orion Center, a place where my
girlfriend and I had found solace from the streets. I met a
lot of good people there.

When a crack head, or dealer, or junky, or any of those poor
fuckers approaches me, this is what they get: They get AWAY
from me, or I from them. I am not tempted-- i survived 6
months tapering from, and am still withdrawing from,
Methadone, opiates in general... And when my girlfriend's
friend failed to conceal her bottles of xanax and vicodin, I
did not fancy myself getting well, only to get sicker
afterwards. I have better things to do, better ways to
live,

I'm a fucking mad musician. I'm sorry if my beats were ever
hard to follow-- it's entirely possibly that your brain
isn't cultured enough to appreciate some of my rhythms, or
that i was high and playing like shit, sir. I mean the sir
who worked at tully's on broadway. And, I'm sorry my shit
was so drugged out that I didn't send you your CD, Xceque.
Which? Technoleum? My email is expando@gmail.com --

I left Seattle. Life shook the shit out of me, straightened
me out. I'm not going to claim that I am not lucky to be
alive, lucky to still have a girlfriend and at least partial
integrity and rapport with myself. No fucked up drug
prostitution, etc. My girl had a seizure once, after a hit-
that didn't stop us from getting high, but it did stop us
from shooting up coke ever again. Disgusting.

I am in Chico where I have access to computers, recording
studios I helped build, drumkits, friends, sunshine, peace,

IT'S TIME FOR ME TO LAY SOME SHIT DOWN! I've built it up--
now witness the fruit of my decompression.

My chops are ridiculously better than when I left to Seattle
3 years ago. I understand music on a much deeper level--
temporally, spiritually..
Enough to know I'd rather make it than talk about it
anymore, right now.
My tuition for college is paid for in the fall (Someone
associated with the place I volunteered for-- more or less a
scholarship so I can become an accredited scientist).
So, I hope this can now stop being my memorial obituary
thread.

Love, Forrest
