Ok. So a lot of new fuckers are signing up to XLT because
they search google for "Oink invites" and are told to come
here. What if you Ceri not only closed the topics, but also
deleted them? Would we get rid of the problem? Or is it so
funny to mock the oink-members that we want them to sign up?

yes ceri should delete the topic and the problem will go
away once google noticed the topic is gone

Sorry, I steered clear of all the Oink threads and still
don't really know what oink is (but reading between the
lines I get the impression it's some sort of invite-only
P2P?). As a result, I had no idea this was a problem. Any
other board members care to give their comments on this
situation?

If enough people say it's a problem, I'll have a word with
Phob and possibly deleted all the oink threads.

You... fool. We don't pay you to think! Donations are up 15%
because of the invites! At least they were before you
opened your big mouth.
I swear, if it drops more than 1% because of this
helpful little post, you are fired. It's as simple as
that.

I disagree. I think that it is our duty as humans to help
spread the gospel that is OiNK. Additionally the Google
Adsense revenue helps maintain the lavish lifestyle that
Phobiazero has grown accustomed to.

Yes, oink it is strictly invite only, but you can get
your invite completely FREE of charge at xltronic today! So
be sure and stop by www.xltronic.com.

*NEW!*- Ask about our torrentleech invites!

After venturing into the OiNK invites thread for the first
time, I saw this,

'i like the electonic music of darude. he rocks!!!'

from some desperate chancer trying to pass himself off as an
electronica aficionado in order to get an OiNK invite. I'm
so sorry I have been negligent in my modding: I had no idea
things had become so bad in the thread. :(

Hi, this is w M w from xltronic again.

Just to let you know we also have an invite trading system
in our forums. Have some spare oink invites, but need a
torrentleech? No problem! Just browse the forums and offer a
trade!

(seriously I think phobiazero noticed that adsense
quadrupled or something so is keeping quiet, but it is a
good source of pointless humor, especially now that the
xltronic wolfman and qrter the mascot are gone).

Just send this to boss@google.com
"Hey dude. We over at XLT doesn't have Oink-invites. Or,
like, we have'em, but why would we give'em to
Darude-fanbois? Darude, is like total shit! If you send one
of those motherfuckers over here again, we will mail you the
diaries of Moniod AND Dog Belch with illustrations, and if
that doesn't stop them, you will get a daily update about
the work on XLTv2.0 (the one with more pixels). OK?"

amazement?

Don't these people understand that the principle of
invite-only is to prevent leeches and fuckwits?

dont let me down ceri

(seriously, i don't see any of those new signups being so
nice as to click the adsense ads, phobia just gets a boner
from more members i think)

Or with gmail, it's basically an artificial way to increase
hype as everyone had a hundred invites that eternally
replenished.

But seriously, look at that oink invite thread folks... it
is a beautiful work of hilarious comedy... I mean this is
it... don't you see?... This is why aphex stopped
making good music... so we would lose interest in him and
build this oink invite thread instead... in a way it is a
work by aphex twin. The oink invite thread is aphex's
true next piece of art, and he composed it through
his fans. He loves us that much and is truly a genius.

I thought that the owner of this board previously decreed
that the Oink thread was to be kept alive, so as to cause an
increase in membership numbers.

that's what I thought. It's a fucking embarrassment to XLT.
I can't understand phobia's logic letting it continue.

The thread should be closed and all the members that signed
up just for that should be banned.

I always thought it was for potential ad revenue, and the
whole 'new members' thing was a lie. Not only do lots of
people post in those threads, but notice the number of
'guests' these days is *much higher* than it was a year ago,
and I attribute this entirely to the invite threads. This
latter point in particular should increase the likelihood of
people clicking on ads..

This discussion has been brought up before. Phobiazero seem
to be satisfied with all the new members who are potential
add clickers, which equals more money.

There must be some server side preprocessing going on

oink was a torrent site specialized in music. indietorrents
was a twin site of it. good music and good times.
