I understand what you're saying. I think it's a natural thing though, to feel empathy for a family that's suffered through something so awful. I mean the dude had two other kids, I can only imagine how they must feel right now. That empathy manifests itself in hostility towards Chris Benoit, for me. I'd like to be able to forgive people like him, but that shit is hard to do. |

It is too easy to jump onto the sensationalism of the tabloid media. Nobody here is in a position to judge this man. It is clear he had conflicts in his life, and the idea that he might have injected his son with growth hormones could have been driven totally by love for a child he was helpless to help. If he has been depressed his actions won't necessarily have been through malice but probably through, a possibly misguided, belief that what he was doing was sacrificing himself for the good of his family. |

isnt it usually used at the end of a sentence as, "May you rest in peace." I believe it is more of a religious term. I could be wrong...But it seems like something that is used to say goodbye to loved ones, and wish them well in heaven and such...I would not say May you rest in peace to chris benoit, because I don't know him, and I don't really know what kind of person he was...He seemed to be a roid monkey who had roid rage, and finally snapped and killed two people and himself...Why would I waste my time wishing someone like that too rest in peace...A friend of mine who fought a bizarre and rare illness for 4 years, just had a multiple organ transplant, and died a week later...now someone like that, I wish to rest in peace...He deserves it |

I want to believe that and there had to be some undiagnosed and undetected disorer. I don't know the whole truth, but the details are truly chilling. Bounding his wife's hands and feet and THEN killing her? Not a crime of passion, but of cold calculation and true malice and torture, especially given their history. Killing his kid might have been a twisted form of euthanasia. But the least he could have done was pulled a John List and shot them all in the back of the head with no fanfare. John List rocked. |
