king tubbys meets rockers uptown
dark and moody classic dub, king tubby dubs up tracks from rockers (augustus pablo's own label), essential, buy this first
king tubby meets aggrovators at dub station
excellent and expansive collection, this leans more toward good vibes and sweet melodies, highly recommended, it's a freaking goldmine

some more good ones:

more recent release by the scientist: scientist dubs culture into a parallel universe - my cd inlay has an excellent history of how the dub recording process originated in jamaica among king tubby and the boys.

Aquarius - Aquarius
Surfacing again for the best part of five years after this repressing originally caused an almighty flurry. Originals of this album sell at auction for many hundreds, and with good reason. its limber, skeletal band arrangements took up the loose but tight jams of the Meters and applied it to emergent reggae dub stylings, and this has many decent claims to be the first real album length dub project. Comprising most of the Chin brothers stellar consorts, dubs here to Dennis Brown's amazing Carole King cover of 'Its too late' as 'Oily', Augustus Pablo, Alton Ellis and much more. Whilst sound quality is a touch shaky, the music is raw and awesome enough in its own right to stand rigorous correction through home systems. Historical, but so relevant, still. -BoomkAT

Intrusion Reflection
The Echospace label returns with another endlessly deep transmission from the vaults, emerging here with some vintage material culled from old tapes recently discovered by label head Steve Hitchell from mysterious artist "Intrusion".
'Intrusion dub' is simply classic Echospace, with all the requisite elements of sonorous bass, inpenetrable analog crackle and well crafted techno and house rhythms filtered through the minds of two dub souls.
Steve Hitchell's cv313 mix is a muted affair, boiling the track down to a glowing residue of padded kicks and vinyl static, while the Phase90 reshape is our favourite cut here, adding some expertly developed techno percussion to produce a narcotic and deadly club number that will destroy anyone lucky enough to hear it played out on a proper system.
The final side winds things down into ambient bliss in classic deepchord/echospace fashion, clearing the air for what will no doubt follow with the next installment from this excellent label.

DISRUPT - Foundation Bit
Probably the most talked-about BASS transmission of recent months (bar the forthcoming Burial and Pinch albums, of course) - the long awaited debut album from Disrupt is with us and is doing things to our woofers we didn't think quite possible. Make no mistake - this is just about the best appropriation of Jamaican dub and 8-bit dancehall you'll likely hear this year - with a slow paced skank and a filthy, uber-bassy production style that has more in common with king Tubby, Black Art and, for that matter, black magic than with any half-arsed wobble presets and lazy dubplates you just might have picked up these last twelve months. Once inside Disrupt's rugged echo-chamber you'll find yourself immersed in a heady, narcotic cloud of smoke, moved by staggered delays, endless reverberations and a tranquilizing cluster of distant instruments and digital detritus all colluding to lull you in and f*ck with your mind good and proper. This is music designed for complete and utter sensory intoxication, tweaked and honed for intense stupefied skanking - and is quite simply one of the most beautifully heavy, chemically enhanced albums you'll hear this year
