mp3 comparison

new album by acrnym, flowers, recently came out on sublight
records.
one of the tracks strikes such an incredible resemblance to
plunging hornets by venetian snares, i can't tell if its a
joke or if its just one biig rip off.
sisforawesome brought it to my attention, he also made the
mp3.
i suggest you listen. quite astonishing.
power to venetian snares and his many fanatic fans!

oh yer. myspace
for those who are as infuriated over this as i am, check out
the song owner. so incredibly huge chrome cylinder box
unfolding.

Why would you get infuriated over someone ripping Vsnares
off? He is probably one of the worst rip off artists
himself.

Anyways, why would Aaron Funk release someone who was
obviously ripping off his style on his own record label?

hmm. i thought as much.
funk didnt release it. i dont even know what his association
with the label is, but there is another aaron involved who
isnt nearly as aaron funk as aaron funk.
perhaps 'infuriated' is an a major exaggeration.. but you
know, the song is blatantly ripping it off. theres bound to
be at least one other person here who cares, and i thought
it was at least worth bringing it to your attention.

yeah, when it comes to this kind of stuff i doubt anyone
will really care. i remember back when i pointed out that
aaron funk had stolen a lot of stuff, aaron posted on the mu
boards saying something to the extent that it doesn't
matter, it's just mindless beats so who cares. at this point
i agree with him.

hehe. i wonder if aaron funk will say anything along the
lines of this just being mindless beats so who cares.

Sublight is to Aaron Funk as Rephlex is to Richard D James.

sublight isn't really the label of aaron funk himself i
believe. not sure though.

Pigster I do agree with you it is very similar to snares,
but he`s still new I`m sure the next few releases he`ll find
his own nitch.

With this whole breakcore trend going on I`m sure we can
make a massive list of clones and highly influenced artists.
Arron knows that a lot of things I`ve done has been really
influenced by him (because I told him the first time I met
him "Hey dude I totally started using insane bassdrums in my
songs cause I was really influenced by your music"), the
whole Gabber mix was completely brought to the mainstream by
snares, but for those of you who listen to REAL gabber and
Hardcore will know that other acts have been doing it before
, and using amens with it aswell.

I think when the unsigned artists get ideas stolen from them
it`s the biggest pain in the ass cause we need all the
publicity we can get, and when someone blatantly steals your
style or gimmick or even just the same humor or samples, it
leaves you with this feeling like "Oh shit, this guy is
getting thousands of plays a day doing something that I
tought/showed him how to do"

To copy entires songs is lame, but to be like "Oh shit cool,
that Keyboard sound is neat I wanna try that" is another
thing that everyone does.

Sounds like some amateur trying to mimic vsnares on FL
Studio, but not completely. It still has it's own feel to it
(more synthetic and soft), so its all good.
